The atmosphere is delightful and the service is amazing. The servers have so much knowledge about the menus, which is very nice. It's a nice date spot.

This March is the first time we tried Fandango and we were delighted. Pretty spanish-style restaurant with a couple of cozy little side rooms and two larger rooms. It was packed on a friday night, but the service was impeccable. One of the great things about eating out in Monterey is the dedication of servers to all aspects of the dining experience, and specifically to the details of the food and the huge wine lists. Our waiter knew everything about everything, and I was floored to see sweetbreads on the menu, as well as cassoulet. My husband had paella and it was gorgeous. When I ordered the sweetbreads, the server mentioned that it was served as described on the menu or the chef could do a variation that he and the server actually made for themselves. I ordered it picatta style, as he recommended, and it was sublime. Dessert was a cold flan with a citrusy sauce and small pieces of orange, kiwi and canteloupe which was a fresh departure from the standard. Overall a very fulfilling experience. Only one star down because just up the street is PassionFish which will blow your mind, but in this town, the difference in microns, not miles. Wholehearted recommendation for Fandango!!

when we were first seated, we were in a small room with four other tables. i thought this was going to be a long night, but when the food came, i totally forgot about the claustrophobic room. sanddabs and calamari steak were fantastic.

The food is middling to poor. While not bad tasting, it is just not worth the money they charge. The service is sloppy (the waiter actually passed the plates down the table instead of placing them in front of us). Considering the tarif
