Petrillo's Pizza Restaurant

This is a great place and worth the wait.
We usually get the special pizza with the works.
This place is worth the long drive.
The pizza is so heavy cause they pile on the ingredients.
Everytime I know I'm going to be in the San Gabriel area I make sure to stop and get a pizza to go.

My family has been going to Petrillos for over 40 years; and for the first time in our lives we had a horrendous experience. In that time, we never had a complaint. I had a banquet for 34 people, and because I didn't have all 34 people there (had 28, though that should be irrelevant), they didn't want to start serving. The server, came back with a note stating our approximation of 35 pushing it up close to my mothers face and referencing, to which my mother responded by dismissing the note, insisting she serve the people already there. Their logic, people arriving late would be upset that the rest of our group was already eating. We had 6 people who were going to arrive late, and according to the manager making everyone wait 45 minutes till they arrived made sense (Imagine if somebody took that attitude with a wedding recep)? Further, service dragged, having to ask 3 times for bread, not taking an additional order of pizza (because it fell outside of the menu items we had preselected), salads came 15 minutes after asking for them, 15 more for the chicken alfredos', 15 more for the sphagettis' (so much for not serving people at different times). My complaints were met by the manager with indifference, saying that we wouldn't have been happy with anything, that the customer is not always right, calculating the tip incorrectly, and when I asked him if he felt that the included tip was appropriate considering the service, he said it was up to me. Over 40 years of my familiy's patronage, no complaints was met with accusations that (now) I wouldn't have been happy with anything. The managers brother I believe (who was more understanding and concerned) and the manager then engaged in yelling match because he seem to try to interject on our side. I think this is the son, because I remember most of my life an elderly kind people. I'm very sad, because I'll never return after the service and treatment I received, and don't recommend anyone to go.

This is the authentic italian restaurant in the neighborhood. The service is usually unfriendly and if you come late your pizza is likely to be overcooked. This use to the the ONLY place I would buy my pizza. I think they really need to get better employees and work on bringing back the quality.

The best pizza not only in town, but probably the next 20 mile radius! Yum yum. Someone wrote that if God were to order pizza, he'd get it from here.

We love to order plain cheese because it is just so good. Sometimes we treat ourselves to pepperoni with which they are very generous. A small is big enough for two to have leftovers and if you order a medium, you'd better be hungry or have several people to share it. The large is for a party!

My daughter says, "There should always be a box of leftover Petrillo's in the fridge." There often is.
