Best little Sub Shop

by Alisa H. | top100 Top100 | Rank: 85

One of my favorite sandwich in San Diego. My favorite is the sandwich salad combo. The bread is excellent and shredded lettuce with a hint of italian dressing is just perfect. I don't like cold food for lunch so I generally request they toast the bread in their pizza ovens. It really make the sandwich taste really good. I've tried the Turkey brest and I would recommend it also. If you work near point Loma, this place is worth a try. Most of the locals know about it already. Support family own restaurant and you won't be dissapointed with the portions.

good hometown italian/deli

Huge portions and yummy sandwiches. This place is close to my college and was a major favorite with all of us. Try the calzones or the pastrami sandwich. The gyros and the eggplant parmesan are pretty good too. A good takeout option, but there are plenty of tables if you want to stay.

Gus

I really enjoy this place. They have awesome and fatty hot sandwiches that are huge! Also, if you like your cheese LOADED on to your pizza, then this is the place to be. The parking lot is kind of small, and so is the restaurant, so it can get crowded rather quickly. When it's busy service slows way down. But if you come in at the right time, it'll be ready as fast as they can make it. This is a great little place to get some lunch or dinner.
