Limn is the place to shop for modern furnitre. They stock all the classics (yes Jeff, even Eames chairs) and have wonderful collections from new local and international designers. Their huge warehouse is packed with furniture, lighting, accessories and innovative options in kitchen design. Prices are full retail, but designers receive a discount and they do have an adjunct warehouse of discounts.
