Pros: excellent in all elements

The good reviews are obviously planted by the owners. This store sells puppy mill puppies. They are diseased dogs - their mother's are in cruel tiny cages in a out-of-state factory. If you buy from this store, you fund animal cruelty.

Pros: Could rescue dogs if she wanted to.

Cons: Sells puppy-mill dogs.

This place is absolutly wonderful. Whether you are looking for a bag of litter to a bale of millet, this place has it all. Their rescuses have helped thousands of dogs and puppies find new homes. I bielieve they hold adoptions quite often. I love this store and would shop no where else for my companions

I don't know what the editor was thinking when writing their review, but this place is awful. The owner / evil investors just care about the bottom line and making money. I live only a few blocks away and driving by this place makes me hurl. If anyone needs Pets, go to Petfinder and rescue one. If anyone needs pet supplies, go to Centinela or Healthy Spot down the street. I cannot believe we have such socially irresponsible place in our neighborhood.

Pros: none

Cons: sacrificing animals to make money

Please don't buy from this store which sells puppy mill puppies. This woman doesn't care about animals - only profit. The dogs she sells are diseased and inbred and prepetuate puppy mill cruelty. Please avoid.

Pros: Will be a great store when she stops selling puppies

Cons: Contributes to animal cruelty.

This store has been investigated and the animals are from pet factories. No reputable breeder would ever sell to a pet store. They are being besieged by animal welfare protesters from the Humane society, Best Friends, IDA, the Companion animal Protection Society and many other orgs.

Boycott this store, they get their dogs on -line from commercial breeding operations where dogs are kept in cages for life. It is unethical to breed, sell or buy while millions of shelter animals die. There are too many homeless pets and 20% of dogs in the shelter are purebred dogs. Read the new American Dog Magazine where the link between puppy mills and pet stores is explained.

When you buy anything in pet shops that sell live animals, you are contributing to animal cruelty.

Pros: they'll go humane soon from the public learning the truth

Cons: they lie to your face

If you are looking to buy a pet, I would not consider purchasing from here. They do not tell you all you need to know about the pet your are purchasing, including important details. They told us when we purchased our cat that she was a tabby. Years later, the vet said she was tortoiseshell. Tortoiseshell are very aggressive and mean as they get older. That's what happened to our cat, and the family's got scares to prove it.

Pros: cute kitties

Cons: everything else is not good

The store is terrific, great pet supplies and pet clothes, but I would NOT recommend their grooming. I picked up my dog yesterday and questioned if this was the first dog the groomer had ever cut. Horrible, ugly hack job. My Yorkie was NOT matted and they blamed the terrible grooming job on me. She had a few knots and she was not matted and the knots were not down to the skin, so there is no excuse for this kind of a bad cut...the groomer and I even discussed it beforehand...when I picked her up and she was a mess. I asked them to just trim her bangs, and they completely cut them off. Her face is cut long on one side, short on the other...one leg is half shaved the other cut with scissors. It will take months and months for this to grow out and is a shame. I complained and no one would even say "we are sorry you aren't happy"...nothing. The owner was there and she was rude and nasty. Don't trust these people to groom your dog, unless you are going for a buzz cut.

It is rare to find a pet store staff that cares so much about the animals they sell... yes they sell puppies... and personally I'm glad they do. Not everyone wants to deal with the crazy people that run some of these local rescue groups. I used to work at a pet store and some of our best clients... that were extremely wealthy were turned down by these "rescue" groups simply because they had a day job?? Are you f***ing kidding me!! Many of these rescue groups are nothing but hoarders that take peoples "donations" but never actually find homes for any animals... disgusting!
Elaine and her staff are very careful with who they place their animals and they have turned away anyone they feel would not be a good home. There is definitely a need for pet stores that still sell puppies... just be sure they buy them locally from reputable breeders and not from "backyard" breeders or poorly run puppy mills.
And as far as adopting an animal from your local shelter is concerned... unfortunately most of them are filled with all the horrible pit bulls that have been given up by some disgusting pet owners in our country. So don't knock pet stores just because they sell a few puppies... not all americans want the problem dogs that have been "thrown away" by others. Do your homework before you run your mouth!

I don't know about where they obtain puppies since I haven't purchased one from them, but they always appear healthy & happy, in spotless cages/pens. Their pet rodents are super healthy, well cared for, and the staff seem to really love and care well for the animals there. I've also bought good cages there.

They have also employed folks with "special needs" from time to time, which I think is good to support.

All in all this place is a hundred times better than other pet stores I've seen in the area.

Pros: Clean, friendly help, healthy pets

Please do your research before you buy a puppy , disgusting! Ask where the mother and father are? If you just get papers listing a city--BE AWARE-PET STORES SELL PUPPY MILL DOGS, please be kind and adopt, rescue. You want to physically go to where the mother and father are located, most likely it will be the midwest. Again look up puppy mills and get educated on the abuse.
