I usually bypass Redlands altogether on my quick trips in the summer and fall between Pasadena and Beaumont/Oak Glen for the cherry and apple orchards.

A few weeks before this past Thanksgiving, however, I took a notion to grab lunch in Redlands. I navigated around the pleasant downtown area looking for a small venue to stop for a quick bite. Once parked in front of a deli on Citrus though, my hunger was pushed aside by curiosity upon viewing the lovely decor peeking through the windows of Mozart's. Upon entering this store, my mouth dropped open and my eyes popped out. This must be one of the most beautiful stores I have ever visited in Southern California (I'm a 52 year old native Angeleno). The holiday season was in full swing there and, as I wandered from room to room, my eyes feasted on the gorgeous and whimsical items on display. I had a difficult time deciding what to buy, as the variety of themes, styles, value and price of items caused me to quickly fill up a basket and grab another for more. I could live in that store; so many pretty delights.

Next time you're in Redlands don't miss this gem.
