if you love comics like i do, comic quest is the place to go. i've been going to them since there first shop opened in lake forrest 20 years ago. every time they move ,i find them in a better store than the last.
the staff is friendly and well versed in comics and games.the selection is good and i always find what i want.on more than 1 ocation,i've gone in and ended up in a rousing debate about some comic or event that is happening and its always a good time.

Comic Quest has great staff members who are always willing to give keen suggestions on comics based on my preferences. There's a "homey" feel to the store--I never feel like I'm getting rushed out--there's always a lot of wonderful conversations going on that you can jump in on! You can get lost in their wide selection of trades and back issues...they've got quite a hefty section of trades from both mainstream and independent publishers. I was impressed at their War Hammer selection as well. If your looking for crazy-looking dice, this is the place!

Comic book stores often get a pretty bad rap in the average person's mind, but this store defies all of the negative stereotypes. It's clean, well-lit, and family-friendly. I'm not the least bit embarrassed to bring my girlfriend along (or even my mother!), or anyone I know who isn't a fellow comics-fan.

The staff is pretty knowledgeable, and even if there's some trivia one of them doesn't know, they're happy to talk about it with you. They also have a pretty good reputation for not being too speculator-friendly - in other words, they never hoard stuff in order to sell it for exorbitant prices later. Back in the Pokemon craze, they'd set limits on how many packs customers could by to try to make sure there was more to go around for everyone even though they could easily have charged 5 times as much and sold the whole batch to one wealthy customer.

There are really no negatives I can recall from my 10+ years of patronizing this store. At worst, they're occasionally sold out of certain titles, but they're always happy to put in a special order for no additional charge whatsoever - all I have to do is leave my name and number and they call me back in a week or two when the book comes in! They also have subscriptions available that come with a 10% discount on any books from your pull-list. This would save me money, but I almost always use the extra cash to buy more books.

They're really well-stocked in both the comics and games department, and anything that isn't on display in the store is probably something they can order for you. I just wish there were places like this everywhere - maybe then the Simpsons "Comic-Book Guy" stereotype wouldn't have flourished!

Pros: Great selection, friendly staff, clean store

Cons: Not every comic store is like this place

This place used to be a small store off Muirlands and Rockfield, but moved over to a larger plaza off El Toro Road many years ago. I used to get my pogs and trading cards here while purchasing comics here and there. It's a great local comic shop with all the latest new comics, old ones (used as well), and different cards and toys/memorabilia. It's never packed though sometimes it may be a little busier if they are hosting a game (i.e. magic) but it's really nice to just browse the aisles and shelves for comics. The staff is friendly and pretty helpful if you are looking for something in particular. Prices are reasonable too. Overall great local comic shop!

This is their new location -- crazy they have got EVERYTHING you could possibly want. It was hard to find for me at first, cause I'm blind....then I saw it off the freeway. Yeah! I found the comics I wanted and got my brother his game. So I was set. Will definitely go back. Store looks good, cool stuff, staff. (I went on Saturday).

Check it out fanboys......

Comic Quest has a great selection of new and used comics for all ages. They also sell memorabilia and toys that revolve around comics. They also sell supplies for roleplaying games such as warhammer and have gaming nights in the store for players to compete. Good prices and ample parking is available in this older complex. They also sell tshirts. The staff is helpful but it is more fun to browse on your own.
