insider reviewing

by june b.

So tacky that most of the good reviews for this hole are from staff, like gail a., who says its amazing compared to the those she's seen in her world travels. I'm sure gail a., the owner, would think such things. Clearly she has a lot to learn. Being a witch, I'm not surprised she has such high opinions of herself.

Don't waste your time and money

by Anonymous

I tried the spa several times trying to like it because it was convenient but the front staff is so rude (attitude) and the specialists are not very approachable - I came to an ephiphany - WHY AM I WASTING MY TIME HERE...

Go to another spa instead - the trip to SF is worth it.

not nearly worth the $90 fee

by Anonymous

I had a european facial and felt like it was a huge ripoff. The woman did little to no extractions which I told her was what I wanted her to focus on, she then put on a mask and left the room for 25mins. When it was done she had the nerve to say that a 20% tip was customary, yeah when you have a great experience! I am sure the other estitions are wonderful but after this experience I will never go back!!

At least I tried

by BarbaraR

I decided to try this place out because the spa I usually go to in San Anselmo (Eden Day Spa) was booked. I was going to my neices wedding on Saturday so I wanted my skin to look fresh and glowing. I went to Evo on a Tuesday because usually 4-5 days is the right amount of time for my skin to settle and look its best after a facial. Unfortunately, I was wrong. My skin looked the exact same after the treatment and horrible the next morning which lasted for a whole week! I don't know what was used on my skin but I was better off not having the facial at all and wished I had waited the extra two days to get in to Eden. IT goes to show, go with what works for you and Evo definitely did not work for me.
I dont mean to put down the place at all because the aestheticain was very sweet and it is a nice spa . Also, they do offer other pretty cool treatments that may not be as bad.

Pros: parking is easy, staff was nice

Cons: My skin looked worse after the facial!

EVO SPA GORGEOUS INSIDE AND OUT!

by ElizJenkins

I LOVE EVO SPA. My main complaint about Spas in general is the attention to the surface level of beauty only... but not at EVO SPA. This Spa is the genuine article in that it provides INTEGRAL BEAUTY...beauty that penetrates to the inner being. The staff is friendly and knowlegable and the treatements are delightful. You can see that everything is very carefully researched and crafted with personal attention, caring and love. Everyone I know that goes to EVO SPA comes out feeling AND looking fabulous. I cannot more highly recommend a place to experience inner and outer beauty. It is EXQUISITE BEYOND COMPARE! I can only say one word about EVO SPA. GO!

I think Evo delivers a level of quality that is totally missing in other Bay Area spas...

by Sandra_Carr

In general I don't like spas because it's so hard to get quality and cleanliness rather than all of the dumb bells and whistles that are so appealing to the inexperienced. I love Evo because it seems as if it's creators have seen it all before and have done their best to create something exceptional. Where can you find that anymore at any price?

Some of the exotic treatments are really fantastic. I've gone for many a Hungarian facial. The Kaya Kalpa treatment is not to be missed, and I've been assured by people who know the art from the inside out that it's the real McCoy, something nearly unknown even in India.

I've found the staff to be genuine and straightforward and without the general smarminess of Mill Valley.

Although everybody has their own experiences wherever they go, my own experiences at Evo lead me to discredit the conspiracy theory regarding the positive reviews and wonder if the reverse is not the case. My feeling is that once you walk through the doors at Evo, your consideration of all the other Bay Area spa experiences will get recalibrated.

Pros: clean, respectful, mature

Cons: paper underwear

THE WORST

by edwinters

I hated my experience here. It should be called EVIL rather than EVO. The staff are inappropriate and perverse.

Facials are a MUST!

by SJeanMV

I tried evo spa last year for the first time after being forced by some of my friends to do something with my skin, they recomended it as a great place to get a good facial. I had not yet gotten into the spa craze like my spa snobb friends being the kind of girls getting weekly facials, but this place has changed me! My first facial at this place was AMAZING! My skin never looked so good, I got a Epicuren facial and it had my skin glowing for days! I was a little nervous when the hot gel was applied to my face but the esthetician reassured me it subsides quickly, and is a supposed to be hot, well the results far exceeded my expectations! I also purchased some products that the girls recomended and they actually work! I loved the way my skin looked so much now I come in once a month to get my face pick me up, thank god for good friends! And good facials! hahah

Pros: Love the staff, everyone is very knowledgeable and expirienced

Cons: can be hard making a last minnute appointment

yes Virginia, the good ratings are a hoax

by karishall

To the person who asked if most of these reviews were done by Evo... how could you tell?
The over-exaggerated tales of how great they are? Wow, good thing for them they're not sworn to accuracy, or honesty.

trashy

by wmorris02

How can you have mean, snobby staff that is also so trashy? I had waxing here once by some sleazy chic with worn out tattoes on her fingers - quite attractive. Not to mention the most painful experience ever. And she might want to reconsider her attire. Really, do I want to see that much cleavage? She also seemed completely mentally preoccupied, aka a real drama queen. Stay away from any esthetician here. Think her name was Vanessa.

what a disappointment

by trueabundance

Months ago, I had started going to this spa because I had been recommended a facialist, Tracy. She was exceptional at everything aspect of her job. I went to make an appointment recently and was told she was no longer with Evo. Strange since she always commented on how much she loved where she worked and who she worked for. Nor would they tell me where she went. The woman I was scheduled with was plain bad. Granted, it was not for a facial. Yet, her whole style was abrasive and insincere. I will not return.

Best massage, so so facialist

by abbywain

Let me say that I am a spa junkie. I have been to Preston Wynne, Red Door, Bliss, PAC, Bellagio, etc. This is by far the BEST massage I have ever recieved. I believe her name is Simone. Her hands are magic. I also tested the facialist by getting a brow/ lip wax. Technically, the facialist gets a 10. Personality and "bedside manner" is more a 4. She was very blunt to point out all of my skin imperfections and tell me I needed a facial. While I won't visit the facialist (I forget her name, something beginning with an A) I will be visiting Simone every chance I get. By the way, the decor is beautiful, receptionist was competent and kind, and everything was immaculate.

Pros: Massage therapist, clean & comfortable.

Cons: Blunt facialist, wish I had a shower to rinse off afterwards

True Essence and True Quality

by kjlowey

The quality of the people, products and care is obvious as you walk in. The waiting area is very soothing, and an experience in itself. I found some oil in the products lines that I had been searching for over three years. I was so happy to find it. I am so very impressed with the individual care and service that I felt I could give my daughter in law a gift card for a massage as her first introduction and be absolutely sure she would feel well taken care of. In the world of fluff and stuff, this is true essence and true quality.

Pros: feelings, service

AMAZING

by nun

The word Spa does not fully describe Evo. It feels more like a Tranquil Sanctuary. Just being in there calms my mind instantly...and I need that. The beautiful decor and attention to detail just enhances all the amazing treatments they offer.

Pros: great parking, good pricing, excellent products

Great Day Spa!

by carolineloewengart

Evo Spa was fantastic! An absolutely beautiful space and now I've had facials, massage and body polishes there - all being excellent. Definitely try the "Hungarian Secret" facial or one of their body rituals which take place in very cool round rooms that are equipped with steam and you lie on a dry hydrotherapy waterbed while you receive your treatment. Fabulous!

Pros: Great treatments, Warm atmosphere, Easy to park
