Let me preface my review by saying that I do a lot of building and repair work myself around the house, so I know how to judge a contractor. On this job, I had a toilet that was forever plugging up even after repeated treatment with a snake. I knew there was something wrong about 5 feet down the sewer line from the toilet, but I needed a video camera to have a look. I called Bernie and he quoted me $250 for the camera work. He offered to come out that day, Wednesday, but we settled on first call Friday morning between 8:30-9:00 AM. At 9:05 on Friday I called Bernie and asked him where he was. He said he had an emergency earlier and it was going to take awhile. He offered to come in the afternoon, but we settled on first call Saturday between 8:30-9:00 AM. Bernie arrived at 8:30 AM Saturday with his assistant and the gear. I had already pulled the toilet, so it only took about 5 minutes to look down there and see that there was a stick or something coming down from the vent that was blocking the flow. Bernie then put the camera down the vent pipe from the roof and we found that there was an old stake in there that had gone up the vent pipe, doubled up on itself and broke off. The space to work under the house was very tight so Bernie had to cut out the 3 way, two other connections, and dig up about two feet of the main line. The whole section would be replaced with ABS pipe and fittings. He said he could do it for $550. I said $550 for everything? He said yes. I thought that sounded pretty good. They left to go get parts and were back at 10:30. They did the whole job by noon, the work was first class and everything was working great. The bill turned out to be $800, $550 for the work and $250 for the camera. Apparently we miscommunicated. That works out to be $110/hr for 5 man-hours plus $250 for easy camera work - a little on the expensive side. I suppose the question one should always ask any contractor is ?so at the end of the day I write you a check for how much for all the work?? So, top dollar for first class work; on balance it was worth it. I would use them again, but negotiate the price better next time.

BTW, the 818-364-0149 phone number is disconnected and they answer the other phone number in their yellow page add: 818-832-0529. Address on the invoice says 26415 Partridge Dr., Canyon Country, CA 91387
