I went in for a tune up and was presented with this weird menu of tune-up options that seemed vague and way over priced. Obviously there's not a lot of money in bike repair, but I did not enjoy being up-sold (?) to. I ended up getting their basic, and a new tire. I've used the bike maybe 6 times since then and already there's a leak in the tire. So beware they may have shoddy product, and they will try and get you to spend more while you're in there, which feels creepy.

Pros: nice space, mellow employees
Cons: tune up menu, upselling
I am neither a pro nor that much of a hobbyist but I do use my bike to commute to work and run errands. When it needs a tune-up or simply wheel truing Safety Cycle is the place for me. The service is quick with many small repairs done in about 20 minutes. Accessories are reasonable priced only slightly higher than what I have found online. If you live in the L.A. area you should check this place out.
