Worst sushi place I've ever been to. I gave this place numerous amounts of times to redeem itself and well every time I went to this joke of a sushi restaurant they always did something rude. For instance, one time I went with my wife and ordered the all you can sushi; the waitress completely ignored us after getting our orders. I finally worked up the courage to ask her for a refill and she gave me and my wife the nastiest look. To add on to the stress they purposely took their time making our food, just so they can run up our hour and make us start another all you can eat hour. Once the meal was over, I paid and left a tip of $20, which was more than generous considering the bill was $80 and the horrible service, but I wanted to get on the waitress's good side. Right when me and my wife walked out of the door the waitress followed us outside and confronted us about tipping to low. I then cursed her out and left. Do yourself a favor and don't give them your money. Places like this give sushi bars a bad name. They make you feel like you should be privileged to their facility, not them privileged to have you as a customer.

My friend and I went here last week. The sushi was very good and reasonably priced. There were very few people in the restaurant the entire time we were there, however the service was still a little slow. This place definitely has a locals vibe, we felt a little out of place there. The all you can eat Sushi is totally worth the price. Generous pieces of Sushi and cut roles.

My wife and I went last night to have dinner there... and I was surprised to see how expensive the food is there. A 3 item combo was 15.00 dollars! I can understand if the place was a first class restaurant or at least a nicer and more accomodating place but it isnt. The staff is friendly, but to expensive. To top it off, when we received our food, I was so upset to see the amount of food, it was like getting a tv dinner. The teriyaki beef was so hard, over cooked! The california rolls smelled weird and were not fresh. the tempura tasted like the oil it was fried in was reused over and over. The rice... dont even get me started... it smelled weird and was really sticky... not cooked right. Just my 2 cents.

I was expecting something better because my friend said that he LOVED this place. It was HORRIBLE. I've been to a good amount of sushi bars and this one was the WORST I've ever been to.

We had their all you can eat and man... I was so upset by the end of dinner. They fish was definitely NOT fresh... it tasted like it'd been sitting out all day and not on ice (we ate dinner there). The rolls were falling apart as we were picking them up and they just didn't taste good at all.

The pros of this place is that the staff was VERY friendly and they were all very friendly. The atmosphere is nice, it's cozy and it has lighting that's not too bright but not too dark.

I wouldn't go back here because I just do not like their sushi AT all.

This place offers a great price for sushi, the food is very fresh and the staff is wonderful and friendly. The enviroment has a very social vibe and we travel 40 miles to enjoy such a treat!. Both the old and new owners have been a delight to get to know. The best deal is the all you can eat sushi, either lunch or dinner. Can't beat the deal any where for what you get in quality and service.

PROS: Fresh fish daily - the staff
CONS: No free refills on drinks

The name, me thinks, scares many people away. I have spoken with diners who, with great trepidation, have dared to try it. Sushi lovers have often experienced "sushi for less" that delivers less than palatable sushi and sashimi. However, this spot is great for the true sushi lover on a budget. I wish they would change their name, for the more who visit, the better and fresher the sushi!

The tempura is great, too. The oil is hot and fresh, so the tempura is crisp and light. I live next door and I am doing my part.

So your first impression might be: " Are you serious? you want me to go to a place called sushi for less to eat raw fish???" Don't worry, that's expected, that was my reaction before the first time I went there. fortunately, I'm usually willing to try anything, and man was it a great experience.

The staff at that place is awesome, they're very friendly... talkative, and provide great service.
They have an all you can eat deal at the sushi bar: This is definitely the best value for your money. otherwise, you can buy sushi on a per piece basis or some meals.

The sushi is always fresh, and very well prepared.
Their prices. as mentioned before are great, especially if you go for the all you can eat deal

PROS: Great food, very reasonable prices, friendly staff. Highly recommended
CONS: They don't have free refills on sodas :(

If you don't want to drive all the way to downtown LA for Little Tokyo quality or the high price, this place is truly recommended. I agree, the pricing is a bit deceiving, but it's not THAT expensive. It's decent, but the food is superb and fresh, you can totally tell if you were to go to the other place down the street.
The location is a bit shady, but don't let it scare you. The staff is friendly and the sushi chefs are a riot if you get them to open up.

Great place. Sushi isn't cheap, but this place is cheaper than most. If you wanted cheap sushi go to your supermarket. Great service and sushi chef are very funny.

The name of the place is rather deceiving. I went there because I thought that the sushi there would actually be cheaper but it wasn't and it costs more than some other places. Overall the food wasn't bad but I should have brought more money since it cost more than I had expected. Don't go there if you're searching for a bargain.

This business has been renamed to Sushiya: Sushi for Less. And while there is nothing "less" about it in terms of price, which is comparable to other sushi places, the food is really good. I had an excellent dish called Tiger Roll, or something like that, which was clearly a Japanese-American fusion dish. Decor is nice and service is fast and very friendly.

Ok, this place may scare you when you find out where it's located. Right next to a mechanic shop. LOL Don't be scared off, cuz once you enter the restaurant, the service is mostly friendly and pretty attentive and the sushi is really good too, especially for the price. Wouldn't know about the actual cooked dished cuz I don't eat that anyway, but all the sushi and sashimi is good. I highly recommend going and sitting at the sushi bar for the All-You-Can-Eat deal for about $25/person. I go almost every Friday, I think they're gonna kick me out soon! hehe
