.

I'm looking at Holly Farm to have my wedding ceremony and reception. The farm received very high marks on yelp for both service and beauty, so I thought I would contact them. The events manager has been very responsive, and after I agreed to meet with her on a Friday that she's available, I have not heard back from her. I'm a little disappointed as I've noticed with this venue and others, once they think they've got you, they kind of respond less frequently. In any case, I'm taking the day off a work to visit so receiving confirmation would be nice. I'll update once I meet her.

So to be fair, she did respond. She went on vacation. The farm shuts down for a week or two. In any case, we visited and put down a deposit right away. We are so excited to have our wedding at this venue. They do wedding coordination and the whole bit.

This place is VERY expensive but because we're having our event in March, the cost is significantly reduced.

The pictures do not do this place justice at all. It's stunning.

Update: July 13, 2009

So I have to say there are some down sides to this place, and to be fair, I should have done a little more research but I feel like some of it they should have been more upfront about.

1. This site requires a babysitter if you have more than 5 children below age 9. I had not encountered that at any site I visited.

2. Liability insurance is not included in the fee. While it is a nominal cost, it is another cost. For 130 guests it is approx. $150.

We knew they had an exclusive relationship with one catering service and that we would have to use them. Given how much this venue charges, I was hoping the caterer would be good. First, they are not good e-mail corresponders. They ask us to fill out a detailed form, we do, and then we get 1 sentence back. I'm hoping they are better on the phone.

And truth be told, I was not wowed by the tasting I went to. I am not a food snob -- I eat cereal for dinner on occasion. I expect taste good especially if I'm paying a lot for it. I would be willing to serve the food but for the price they are charging, it should be better than it is.

I will update again when we have phone conversation with the caterer.

I heart Erin Moses and her AMAZING family. We had a wonderful wedding weekend at one of the most gorgeous places I've ever had the opportunity to visit. We were there from Friday AM to Sunday PM for 3 days of fun and family time.

I don't have the words to describe what this place means to me. We really had the most perfect wedding, really we did. Our friends and family had a wonderful day and weekend. We could not have asked for better.

Everything from the pre-wedding communications to the day of. They think of everything. Homemade cookies upon arrival, staff that attends to our every need, and they are super organized and make everything happen when it is supposed to happen. They also make everyone do a practice rehearsal which we really needed given how many participants there are!!

I could go on and on and on. Contact me if you want more info. Off season is when to do it for the most bang for you buck.
