We've been going to Humphrey's On The Delta on Easter for years and this year did not disappoint! They improved the buffet dramatically and the flow of people was well done. The restaurant is always fully staffed and this year our waitress was outstanding. Really sweet and attentive. I definitely recommend Humphrey's On The Delta for brunch any time but especially on a holiday or special occasion.

After 40+ years of cooking the Thanksgiving Dinner, I was looking forward to having the pleasure of a "Thanksgiving Day Buffet" at Humphrey's in Antioch! What a sad, dismal state of affairs: There was some turkey left (and it was quite tasty); No Glazed Ham; No Roast Beef; No Mashed Potatoes; No Yams; No Cranberry Sauce; No Dinner Rolls...and NO MANAGER to address our disappointment (we believe he was at the bar watching the game)!!! Just a bill for $56.18 for a miserable excuse for a meal and 2 well drinks. This is a beautiful restaurant overlooking the Delta and one would think that it would be full of patrons. We've only been there 3 or 4 times over the years and it's always practically empty...NOW we know why! The only saving grace is the wait staff!!

The best food, best service and great view. Now with original ownership after a few years we will get to see great service. Back to the good al days. You can have a beautiful Wedding at Humphrey's On The Delta with three lovely wedding sites to choose from. Humphrey's will provide personal assistance from beginning to the end of your special occasion. Splurging at top-rated restaurant is fun for special events, but where can you go for a good quality meal that won't break the bank? The Romero Family took back ownership as of March 8, 2011.

My boyfriend and I had our first date at Humphrey's last summer on August 24TH. It was great, we sat out on the deck in the evening and watched the boats and the stars and talked for hours. They had music playing and we slow danced to a couple of songs and had our first kiss right on the deck. It was so romantic. We are getting married this year on our anniversary date of meeting for the first time at Humphrey's and are planning on having our wedding dinner at Humphrey's to celebrate! The food was great, the atmosphere amazing, and the staff is very accomodating.

Went 4 Mother's Day. Not notified it was a buffet. Let us make reservation when there was no food out (switching from the breakfast to the dinner buffet). Arrived, said food would be out momentarily. Hour later they started serving. The food was bland, not good at all. Chocolate fountain didn't work, VERY slow replacing empty trays. Waitress and table bus'ers nowhere to be found, we cleared own dishes and found a full pitcher of water to serve ourselves. Complained, to supervisor, received $18 off $400 check! RIDICULOUS!

I went to my beloved Humphreys on the delta for Mothers Day!! I took my mother, grandmother, and my two sons. Alot of people came to the resturant i can not blame them because
is the best place to go here in antioch. I did not wait long i was sitted fast i have to admit the food was delicious. I do not regret calling to make a reservation they had delicious fruit crapes and variety of food to choose from. My table was next to the window the view was gorgeous i drank champange with orange juice and enjoyed a wonderdul morning with my family. i have to admit that humphreys is one of the best resturants in Antioch: Is elegant, good service, and great food!!!!

I recomend people to go and eat at humphreys resturant is beautiful. I love going to humphreys is a upscale classy and elegant resturant.

ABSOLUTLY HORRIBLE!!!! My children decided to take me there for a ??Mothers Day? Dinner. It was a party of 10!!! I have never been so disappointed with a restaurant than with this one. They had it set up as Buffet Style; our reservation was for 2:30pm. They had a variety out, they ran out of waffles! How do you have a buffet and run out of waffles?? The cold shrimp was over cooked and tasked like rubber as did the crab. Then we had to wait for an hour and for the dinner menu to come out, with the same foods they had for the breakfast menu except they traded the eggs for mashed potatoes, added some ribs and you had the breakfast menu all over again. And if the food wasn??t detestable enough, the service needed a lot of work. The ladies room was dirty/nasty! We had to ask them to clear the used plates from our table, we had to ask for additional cutlery, we ordered soft drinks, they bought us carbonated water with no syrup and when we mentioned it to the waitress, she took the glass that we had already drank from and drank from it as well to taste it (ugh) nasty! My grandson, who has a pretty hearty appetite, eats basically all types of food, would not eat the food at this restaurant, because he said it was nasty. They had some mushrooms on the menu, made you gag! On a scale from 1 ?? 10 this restaurant rates a whopping ??0?. No manager was on duty (of course) to communicate our complaint to and when I did talk to the hostess, she wanted to tell me about her dislikes for one on the waitresses on duty (unprofessional!!!!). Let??s face it, it??s is not one of my favorite fives. . . . . . .

We came on a Tuesday about noon for lunch and there was no one there. Got a table outside because inside was so dark. Luncheon menu was mostly chicken and meat dishes, very little seafood. Had open faced crab meat sandwich which was okay, nothing to recommend. She had a salad, that even she with a good appetite could not finish.
Kind of disappointed the chairs outside were those cheap plastic ones from Walmart.
This was a week ago, March 16th, 2010.
I would never recommend this place.

So, so sad to see my beloved Humphrey's deteriorate the way it has. I have been a staunch supporter for at least the past 10 years. It has seen me through every birthday from 35 to 45, several Thanksgivings, and my parents golden anniversary. I have loved lunches there with the girls, small christmas parties with my co-workers and many, many other celebrations. If someone were to ask, my favorite restaurant was Humphrey's Antioch. It is too bad that the food quality has gotten so bad, that after the past 4 or 5 meals there, I have finally, after last night sworn it off for good.

After several meals where the jumbo prawn coctail was overcooked and rubbery and the salmon was not quite right (not sure if it was old or frozen but not tender, mild and flaky like normal), last night I tried the Captains Platter. The "lightly breaded" cod was a thin, rubbery piece of HEAVILY battered white fish. The little scallops were firm and the large, beautifully butterflied, deep fried, prawns were breaded and fried for so long that it was difficult to get my teeth through them.

In the past, the food was amazing. Now the "seafood" restaurant ruins the fish regularly. I am so sorry to have to say good-bye to Humphreys.

We come here a couple times every year. But this new owner needs a lesson in cleanliness. The floors were filthy the tables were sticky the windows were cracked and dirty. they served us with paper napkins and plastic cups. I had the Captains platter $25 2 sm. rancid & cold oysters or muscles, 2 prawns, a sm. pc. of cod and a bunch of squid parts thrown about, and the vegetables were soggy and over cooked. My wife had scallops and scampi. The 4 sm. sea scallops she could not eat because they tasted like iodine, 4 scampi were way over cooked and dry, The backed potato looked as if it had been cooked all day and was that dry, the vegetables were also over cooked. after we both had eaten a few bites we knew we had to leave. On the way out we confronted the owner and all he could say is that he would talk to the chef. please do not waste your money and time. this place is Disgusting! we will never be back!

The food was done well and priced as expected if not a bit less. The view of the Delta waters at sunset is very romantic. Almost every table affords a view. The service we had was great. They are attentive to your needs and don't disappear after serving the food or after the first time stopping by to see how everything is. Wine selection was good.

I've always enjoyed going to Humphrey's. When I come back to Antioch to visit family, I always make a point to go there. Their Sunday champagne brunch is wonderful. The best feature is the view. Being right on the river with a nice view of the delta area makes for a relaxing experience, and sitting at the bar with its view of the marina is just as relaxing. I will be sure to see the folks at Humphrey's next time I'm in town.

Humphreys is indeed a 'diamond in the ruff.' Many people I talk to do not know it exists because of it's location. My wife and I go there several times a month, and have for years. I always find the waitresses greet us warmly and with genuine familiarity, as most of them have been there for years. The food is always made fresh and delicious. The soups and dressings are their owns recipes as well. I have not been disappointed with any of the dishes I have had nor has my wife. The view in the warm seasons is unbeatable as you can see the river and the marina surroundings well into the evening, an added treat. The pastas at Humphreys are original and my favorite. We have gone to Sunday morning brunch on occasion and found that to be a treat as well.

If any of you reading this has never tried Humphreys you are missing out on a quiet wonderful experience. Ask for Nancy, Patricia, Diane, or Domingo, and they will certainly add to your experience. You will not be disappointed and you will have found a beautiful place to dine.

I hadn??t eaten here in years. When it first opened years ago, it was a nice place to get good seafood. My husband and I went out for a Valentines dinner. We had reservations and were seated at about the time we had requested. Service was spotty. We waited quite a while for the glass of wine I requested. Salad mediocre-bagged salad that you could buy at Costco piled on a plate. No pepper offered to us, but it was available at other tables. We resorted to opening the top of the nonfunctioning pepper shaker just to get any. I ordered Petite Filet and Scampi rare with mashed potatoes. Huge filet (about 10 oz) that was not all that tender. Warning rare this evening meant the outside wasn??t even warmed. The scampi was 3 tiny shrimp obviously cooked twice, once without sauce and then re-warmed in a garlic sauce. If the shrimp were any smaller they would have been called cocktail shrimp. Husband ordered Filet done medium with baked potato. His filet was supposed to be about 8 oz, but was more like 4 oz. The meat was extraordinarily dry and seemed to have been cooked earlier and kept warm for a long time. No options of toppings were ever offered for the potato. The wine we ordered with out dinner came about half way through dinner.

It could have been worse; the poor fellow next to us having dinner with his date and another couple was served just as we were seated. His ribs were cold to the touch. When he sent them back, he was left for almost 15 minutes without food. By the time his returned his friends had finished.

Dinners coming after us were left waiting in the lobby area for quite a while. Yes Valentine Day is usually busy, but about of the tables were consistently empty so there shouldn??t be much need to leave people waiting.

While the bar service is attentive and the view is nice, I??d steer clear of this place until they do some major work on service and food quality.

I took my uncle to Humphrey's for lunch today as he said it's his favorite restaurant. I could see why. It's beautifully furnished, with a great view of the river (sailboats, motorboats, a small cargo ship) and the fishermen on the dock (one of whom we saw landing a fish that appeared to be about 16 inches long).

The menu contains a wide variety of seafood My uncle ordered the calamari, telling me it is fantastic. However, only two dishes -- an appetizer of stuffed potato skins and a bowtie salad -- appeared to be vegetarian. I ordered the bowtie salad, after specifically asking the waiter "It looks like this is about the only thing you have that's vegetarian?" To my astonishment, my salad arrived "decorated" with slices of salami! The waiter seemed confused that I didn't want it, but willingly returned it to the kitchen.

When he returned with a salami-less salad, I thought I'd better ask -- "Is this the same salad?" Sure enough, they had simply removed the salami and returned the same salad to me! I had to explain that I actually didn't want to eat food that had been in contact with meat.

I must say, the salad he brought me on the third try was delicious. Considering that they've probably had little or no prior experience serving vegetarians, I was pleased that there was no hesitation to bring me something that was indeed vegetarian.

The servings are very generous; and considering the great setting, I felt the prices were entirely reasonable -- about $12 apiece, including tax. (We didn't order any alcohol or other drinks, or dessert.)

Humphreys is so named after the grey whale that swam up the delta and stayed until it could be coaxed back out to sea where it belonged. The restaurant was built in the marina and offers outstanding food and a wonderful Sunday brunch. The dining area is huge and the restaurant has a variety of foods, not just seafood. At their Sunday champagne brunch you get fresh squeezed orange juice and champagne plus lattes or regular coffee. Then you go to the buffet room where they have every thing from Mexican entrees to eggs benedict to all kinds of breakfast meats. They do made to order omeletes and fresh made belgian waffles. They have tons of fresh seafood like shrimp and salmon as well as salads and fresh fruits and cheeses. If you are looking for a special place for brunch, this is the place to go.
