Oh I never had ever had such a negative experience with a doctor. So I went today and here is how the desaster unfolded. In gerneal WORST experience ever especially Dr. Amie Knieper.
I was to switch vets for a cast a neighbot gave to me after all documents were transferred I arrived for my 5pm appointment early at 4:50pm. I was not serviced until 5:20pm. The nurse

was actually nice and nothing wrong with her, she really tried to be nice, no fault with her. Dr. Knieper finally entered the room...never had experienced asuch a cold doctor

before...something was wrong with her, I think she was stressed or overwhelmed, definetly not in a good experience to see animals. My kids sensed the same. During exam she insisted

repeadetly for me to step back and not touch my cat as she stated "it is her time to examine the "the animal" (might as well have said "the thing") and step back with no reason given.

The cat was obviously stressed and panicked. Doct tor relied on paperwork only and read this is an agressive cat and used all measures to use the same coldness she used towards me to

use agains the cat as well.
I agree my kids used an inappropriate laughter when the cat made a panic hissing sound, but then, at a second time as she shut me off first, then gave a shut off commet towards my

kids..not wvery welcoming or comforting to them as well as the cat. Weird though as you would expect a better behaviour from an "experienced" doc, which we obviousdly did not have....
Next: recommendation from hr was: cat is all ok....EXCEPT dental problems and she gave me a quote for a $1,200 dental procedure...LOL, little did she know that the cat was at a

different vet one month back and did not find anything such as that...what a rip off.
FINALLY: she was ready to give the shots that I initially requested as the reason for my visit...she insisted to take the cat to the back room. Since I lost all my trust in her I first

asked kindly, then insisted to attend my cat during this procedure, I was told "this is my hospital and you have to comply or don't do it at all". Even the nurse tried a couple times

but this doctor really had made up her mind and was serious about it...it is HER hospital and no butts about it. So i got the shots (Whopping $85 for it, oh my goodness!!!!) and went

on my way. Even the frontdesk nodded confirming when I tried to complain, but remained quiet, I got the nod of "oh yes, we certainly know...".

End of story, I can only encourage everyone NEVER go to this place, this is a rip off and I believe they do not treat your animal well at all. Stay away from it, even my kids agree

this is a witches place you should not trust your animals to (kids comment, but I believe it).
Go to a better place it is worth it, ibn the interest of your animal and your purse!!! Do not trust this doctor, do not give your animals into these evil hands.

AT VCA Orchard Plaza it really depends on who you draw for a vet here. I took my two cats there for years and was very happy. The staff was especially nice. One day my male developed a problem and I drew a vet at VCA that I had not worked with before. He was given an ambiguous diagnosis - with estimates for a $700 procedure, just for tests to get started on the problem. I took him over to Bloom Valley Animal Hospital and he received a clear diagnosis and treatment plan for $139 the same day. The VCA vets must get paid on commission for the services they can bill. It's unfortunate for their reputation that this can result in very inconsistent service experiences for their clients. Most of the vets there are first-rate people.

Bottom line -- VCA is the most expensive vet in town. The quality of care is ok, but their #1 concern is money, not your pet. If you want true, honest quality care, find a different vet who doesn't have dollar signs in their eyes when you bring your pet in for an exam. The staff is friendly, yes, but doesn't excuse the mark-up on prescription prices and xray costs and infinite add-ons to any procedure that are not necessary but they make it sound as if they are in your pets best interest.. just not your pockets, unfortunately.

I lived around the corner from this place and took both my dogs here. Different vet every time. I've had to take one of my dogs back several times because they didn't do everything they said they would. Stupid me, I took my dog back to have some shots done and get his nails trimmed. I called to talk to a vet because the dog may have some side effects from the shots. The woman at the front, Cathy, said I should bring him in. I explained what was going on. She said she'd talk to a vet and put me on hold. a few minutes later she gets back on the phone and said I should bring him in. She never talked to a vet. I'm sick on the high prices and the poor customer service I get from this place.

I was a loyal client of Dr. Wong's until I had to move away. She helped my animals and ME through many tough times from regular checkups to illness, a broken back and euthanasia. She and Orchard Plaza Animal Hospital are the best I have ever dealt with anywhere and anytime. I just wish they had been able to move with me. I highly recommend them to everyone.

I live 2 minutes from this vet so it has been convenient for emergencies, but more often than not, they have wrongfully diagnosed many of my pets- rabbit, dogs, and cat. My puppy was given a live Parvo injection and he got Parvo right after, and nearly died! My husband explained to them why he's certain Rusty (my puppy) contracted it because of them and they became real defensive and nasty. Needless to say, they no longer give live Parvo injections. Another time, I took my rabbit in and they must have done 20 tests only to find NOTHING! I ended up taking him to a specialist and they found out he was allergic to some plants in our side yard. A friend of mine used to take his cat there, but when his cat became paralyzed and couldn't move his legs, he tried to come in for an emergency visit and was told they couldn't see him until the following day!!!!! He had been loyal to this vet for three years and now when he needed them the most, they turned their backs on him. I will say, I had one positive experience. My dog Rusty had cut his paw on a piece of glass at the park and when I took him to the vet, he put on the brakes before we even got inside the doors because of his fear of vets-since his Parvo ordeal. The vet (a strong man!) came outside and gently carried Rusty inside and was soooo sweet with him! I couldn't believe it. I still say they are one of the overall worst vet facilities in the area.

Depending on who you get and whether you get the actual vet or an assistant really plays into how good your visit will go. We have been for a few things, the first was kennel cough shortly after we brought her home from the shelter. This was diagnosed immediately and taken care of. The second time was due to a food allergy and we had MANY expensive unnecessary tests done for mites and other problems only to find out it really was just a food allergy.
