The tofu here is very good and the prices here are decent. The service is great too. I don't think they turn on the air because it's usually very stuffy inside.

As far as korean food goes, this place is not the best but it's the closest place around monterey park. the tofu is pretty good and it's a good deal if you go at lunch (weekdays until 4:00 pm). The service is pretty rude though. The boss was rude and I don't plan on going there again. Also, there's no air conditioning so if you're eating something hot, you'll sweat. But there is a free soft serve yogurt machine - but it'd broken.

THIS PLACE WAS TERRIBLE. AWFUL. RUDE. BAD SERVICE
My boyfriend and I decided to share a dish [ ~ $16 for one order] because we both weren't that hungry. The waiter had no idea what he was talking about, they made a mistake on our order so we politely told them, & they made it seem as if it was our fault that they made a mistake. They didnt even apologize and i think they did something to our food because now my stomach is hurting. I have honestly never been to a place this awful & rude before, and i will definitely never ever go back. To top it off, on our way out the guy told us that we can't share orders, are you kidding me? He made a huge seen and everyone was watching, and we didn't do anything wrong. how rude is that? TERRIBLE. I WISH WE WOULD HAVE JUST WALKED OUT AND NOT EVEN PAY FOR THE BILL.

This place stood out for me as it had good wait service compared to many other Asian restaurants in the area. I've been to a couple of other tofu houses, but the service was lacking with the waiters just plopping down food and expecting you to arrange your own table to fit more plates while that waiter waits impatiently. Walking into Tofu House is a little alarming as they do have a chime that goes off at the door when you enter. But as I walked in, it made more sense why they have that obnoxiously loud chime. The restaurant is in the shape of an L, so the wait staff, can't see when there are people coming into the place. I was promptly seated in a booth with a paper menu serving as a placemat. The rest of the decor, aside from the cheesy placemat, was quite clean and minimalist unlike the typical gaudy, tacky, dingy places near there. The time it took between ordering and getting my food was very quick with the little appetizer/side dishes coming out first. I normally don't eat kimchi, but their's was actually palatable for me. The plates the food was served on were very clean looking sot here was no need to do any wiping or asking for new utensils. When my waitress came with the rice, she was sure to tell me to let the rice sit for a few minutes more before uncovering it since the rice cooks inside these heavy stone bowls. This was a nice gesture as I've been to other places where they dump your rice on your table with the lid off as you wait for your main entree to come--causing the rice to get cold, hard, and stuck to the sides of the stone bowl. When I got my curry tofu, I was pleasantly surprised to see how much tofu was actually in it. Though not as spicy as I expected, it tasted pretty good. When it came time to pay the bill, I had to ask for it. Now that's not a bad thing since many cheap eats type Asian places throw the ticket on your table before your first bite. Would definitely recomment this place and I'd go back again!

Pros: Service, cleanliness

Cons: Loud door-chime

I went in here instead of the next door Ocean Star since the line for the dimsum was one hr!!!
no wait here, the Korean BBQ was just ok but definitely more expensive than other places.
would I come here again ? the answer is NO.

PROS: no waiting
CONS: slightly more expensive than other tofu house

A good soon-tofu in Monterey Park? Decent Korean BBQ? Yes. Maybe not quite as good as the best in Koreatown, but very good nonetheless.

And this place is never crowded. The dim sum place next door is always packed, but the crowds never seem to fill this place - which is one of the nicer restaurant spaces in Monterey Park.

They even have a private room you can reserve for parties.
