The incredibly rude waitress only added to the disappointing meal... completely flavorless sloppy tacos and cold chips. She was drinking at a table with her friends and felt imposed upon to take our order. If a manager had been present to try to correct the situation and correct her surly condescending attitude it would have been helpful, but still an overpriced and stale-tasting dinner. Though there were many empty tables we were seated facing the restroom doors which did not add to the experience. By the time we ate and got out of the temple all I took with me was the memory of the most unpleasant dinner out in years. This was the third time in 2 months that I have been there and each visit was worse than the previous. I will not recommend Taco Temple to any one.

This place is a nice change to the fish n chip scene of the central coast. It has good food for a fair price and the people are friendly. The worst thing is you better have cash cause they don't take check or credit. If you go try the Nachos

This place used to be a value, now its a tourist trap. They don't even give you chips and salsa!! The Tacos are more like salads, and the meat is tasteless. If you go on the weekend it may take a while to be seated, even for lunch. Not worth it. Not now, not ever.

My family and I LOVE Taco Temple in Morro Bay. The food is truly a religious experience. The location is convenient, with lots of parking available - but though they have expanded, the place fills up fast! My best tip is to get there early. Believe me, if you have to wait for a table - it's well worth it!

We frequent Taco Temple on a regular basis! The food is amazing and a bit healthier than your traditional mexican food. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is great.

My family loves the food at Taco Temple. The food is always fresh, and you get alot of food for the money!
Haven't tried anything there that we didn't really enjoy.
The fat scallop burrito is well worth the money.

If you have not tried Taco Temple, you might mistake it for just another Taco shop near the beach. Taco Temple is far from it. The food on the regular menu is amazing and the specials are even better. I have never managed to finish a full meal there but half of the fun is taking the rest home to enjoy later! "Mexican" is not really the right category for Taco Temple. They call it California Fusion... think of Sunset magazine and you have a good idea of what the food is like.

Taco temple, at one time was wonderful, the food is still o.k. Now you can't be served on the patio, you can't
order certain items to go,at someones whim. You are treated like cattle!!! I'VE BEEN TREATED BETTER AT TACO BELL??? Image that. The roll your eyes service at night , I'll never be back. GOOD LUCK!

Yep, this is the place if you want it all. Food, beverages, company...not to mention, you are minutes away from the beach. Enjoy the sunset, as you enjoy the best mexican food around.

I am absolutely amazed at the great reviews for Taco Temple. For a highy inflated price, I was served boiled chicken with a pile of lettuce on top -- no seasoning, no tomatoes, no fresh herbs, nothing. It was bland and distasteful. The odd taste of the chicken actually gagged me after a while. There were no sides to go along with this "chicken salad". The place looked like a bus stop inside and a 99-cent store outside. There were no booths, just uncomfortable wooden chairs and too many tables crammed into a very, very noisy room. Kids were screaming and folks were shouting over the kids. My husband orderd a Salmon Salad. The Salmon was flopped onto a plate by itself and a salad was plopped down next to it. And that was that. Weird meal. We love to eat good, healthy food and were looking forward to this place, but, Oh, my God!!!!"

Pros: They allowed us to leave the building.

Cons: Ugly building, no ambience, ear deafening, horrible food, over-priced

My wife & I were frequent customers of Taco Temple, but never again. We stopped in this evening to celebrate our 48th wedding anniversary. We were quickly seated (got in before the evening rush) and our server took our drink & food order within 5 minutes. Then the wait. Forty five minutes after we placed our order, the server saw our questioning looks and said there were only 3 people ahead of us and our food would be coming up shortly. People who came in well after us were being served & leaving when after one hour & 5 minutes after placing our order I called the server over and asked " when"? She said "soon". I asked for the drink bill, paid it and left. Their food is tasty but not tasty enough to overcome the bad taste in our mouths from this experience. We'll never return.

This place is great, really low key and informal; this place boasts the best fish tacos i have ever had. The portions are large as is the flavor. They basically do a california take on spanish/mexican food. Really healthy and fresh tasting food.

Pros: Large portions of high quality food

Cons: Can get very busy, no reservations, so plan on waiting for awhile if it's dinner time.

This is the first review i have written but I felt that this was worth it. We took the recommendations from city search and it was love at first bite. Even took dessert back to the hotel (walnut caramel pie - need I say more?) The best tacos. Even the entertainment was perfect. We want to make the 3 hour drive this weekend, just for the food!

Pros: tacos, friendly, dessert

Try the Calamari Ring appetizer as a main dish and the bread pudding or tres leches cake for dessert. The fish tacos are great; everything is savory; cash or checks only, though. Yummy shoestring potatoes, too.

I am compelled to review. Ive lived on the central coast off/on most of my life. The Temple in my opinion is the best representation of our personality as a community by way of a dining experience. The food is cheerful, healthy, relaxed, and sophisticated all this seeming to occur accidentally on purpose. These are key requirements in gaining the unbending dedication and respect of the locals that haunt this place. Locals=The smart people that call in their orders on the weekends. The service is reminiscent of a country cafe where its not a crime to have small children at the table smearing food around. I think one of the best things is they treat everyone like they are locals so if you are visiting or just driving thru town they put our best food forward:)
oh yea, they expanded the dining room soo nice!

Pros: Great Food, Friendly Service, Great Carrot Cake

Cons: Small Dinning Room, "Hole in the Wall"

Taco Temple has an overpriced menu that offers little for the money. I ordered an eight dollar beef taco, and was delivered a salad (mainly lettuce) with a little bit of beef, smothering two flat corn tortillas. Don't go.

PROS: None
CONS: Overpriced and not good

This is the best place for a quality meal of any kind. Mostly specializing in mexican, sometimes they have a meatloaf with garlic mashed potatoes that is to die for!!! You won't find any fresher ingredients than what is used here. The staff is top notch. I have been a customer for the last four years and turnover is very low. The staff there take great pride in the product of the business! You can dine outside and bring your dog along too! Cash or local check only. ATM next door at the market. You won't find better desserts anywhere on the central coast. Made fresh every single day from scratch!

The amazing thing about this little funky CA fusion place is the quality of the ingredients and the complexity of the food. The tacos offer a variety of fresh raw vegetables in abundance--something unheard of in most Mexican restaurants, and the blackboard specials contain fresh fish and creative alternatives. Portions are huge, especially if you order a burrito or a tostada.
