Well my brother and girlfriend like to go camping here. They say it's nice and they usually have a good time to relax. Get away from the technology. Doing simple things like BBQ and fishing. Nice place overall.

So if you are looking for a lake to do some real fishing, Lake Jennings isnt the place for you. I wouldnt even call the fishing that is done at Lake Jennings fishing since they stock the lake themselves with all of the fish. They have a Bait & Tackle Shop which doubles as a snack stand and you do need a state fishing license to fish in Lake Jennings. You cant purchase a fishing license on scene, so thats something that you may want to plan ahead of time for. You can use your own boat, which of course, they will charge you an additional fee for (around $6), or you can rent one of theirs. Their boat rental prices are pretty reasonable, ranging from $10/hour for pedal boats all the way up to $40/day for motorboats. They also charge a fee for fishing, and have set limits as to how much fish you are allowed to catch. They charge you for the kids to fish to, if they are over eight years old, if they are under eight, they can fish for free, but if they catch fish, it counts towards your daily allowed fish amount. If you just want to sightsee or have a picnic lunch, they even have a fee for that (around $1/person). To me, it seems as though Lake Jennings is all about the fees. The scenery is beautiful, but its not scenery that you cant see at any other lake, many of which have similar services, and dont make you pay for sightseeing. Above all else, if you are tired of the beach, and want a place for a nice picnic lunch, then head to Lake Jennings, but if you are looking for a full day of activity at the lake, bring your wallet, and your credit card, because its going to cost you a bit more then you might expect.

We have gone fishing at this "lake" that is actually a reservoir for the local water district. First we tried fishing on the pier, but didn't have any luck- The next time we rented a boat, and spent hours up there, and still no luck. You have to have a fishing license, of course, but they make you pay extra to fish at this lake. You can't walk around the lake, really, either, and for the most part it is all fenced off. If you go to the parking lot on top of the dam however, it is a good place to fly a kite!

I recently moved to Lakeside, and was ecstatic when I found out there was a lake here to explore. Well, when I went to visit it for the first time, I found out there is no exploring available! There is a camp site, but you have to pay to use it, and there is a fishing pier on the other side, but there is not really anywhere to walk around and watch the ducks or anything. I wanted to spend time with my son at the lake, and you just can't do that here.
