We order the soup and the curries and all goes well till at the end of our dinner, my wife spots a piece of plastic in the curry. It was crumpled up thin plastic the size of a quarter!!! that was NOT ACCEPTABLE.

After the manager spent 5 minutes justifying us giving the 18% gratuity, one of our buddy got upset and he raised his voice and demanded that we see his boss. At that point, they removed the gratuity but took BACK the curry they had reserved us (the one that had plastic in it, remember?!?). When we were outside bidding goodbyes, the 'boss' finally came out in the parking lot and said we should have tipped the manager more for his efforts as good will...that was RIDICULOUS! Our buddy who had yelled at that manager gave additional $5 bill to the boss as tip and asked him to leave us alone. Get this now...the boss TAKES the $5 bill and then tells us " i have seen all your faces...I would like you to NOT come in my hotel again...you STUPID...you LOW..." (end quotes)

Having been to Thailand several times, and a Thai food lover, whenever I get out of town for work, I end up eating Thai almost every other night. Generally, I try to pick something that I have not seen on other restaurant's menus. Sometimes its very similar to another dish with a different name at another restaurant (different names for the same things). I got Chicken Long Hao -- fried chicken with three flavors. Presentation was very nice. Food was excellent. Very unique, in a good way -- lightly fried chicken coated in a thicker sauce. Didn't seem as uniquely Thai as some of the authentic dishes (i.e. stir fried in a thinner, juicer sauce), but I liked it for a change. Would go to this place again.

Thai Pepper has decent food, but their soups are a little weak. The one problem I had with their food was I asked for it extra hot, and it came out very mild! If you aren't Thai I guess they don't think you can handle the spice! The service was good, and it was very clean inside!

I attend nearby Santa Clara University and it's a great place to go for an off-campus meal when i get sick of on-campus dining options. My friends and I have frequented this place ever since it was recommended to us. Even my parents, who are real "foodies", love this place and is pretty much a staple for a family meal when they come visit me at school. The prices are great and the food is amazing; the servings are generous enough to have leftovers for the next day; a college student's favorite. The Pad Thai and Chicken Satay are my absolute favorites and lately I've ordered the Panang Beef Curry (SPICY). The place is a hole-in-the-wall type of atmosphere, and like everyone else had mentioned, a little hard to find at first; however, I usually take those as sure signs of high-quality food. I highly recommend this place to people who are looking for different options as far as food goes, and those who like Thai food in general.

They have mouth watering selections. I am from southern india and can handle a lot of spicy food. Be Careful while ordering Spicy stuff. The Pineapple fried rice and the tofu is too good.

Awesome food for a good price. Not very romantic, but great place for lunch or casual dinner. Kinda hard to find, but park on the street and look at the map on the sidewalk, it should help you find it.

Pros: Spicy food, Prompt service, Thai iced tea

Cons: Sort of hidden

These guys have mouth watering selections. However be careful about how spicy you request your food to be.. I am from India and can handle a lot of spicy food,, but I've had trouble handling their 'spicy hot'. You will be safe if you go with 'medium spicy'. They have some great desserts too. Very highly recommended.

I've been to Thailand, and Thai Pepper is like going back to Bangkok. The smell of the food, the warmth of the smiles, the decor, and even the sometimes cramped quarters remind me of time well spent in excellent eating establishments in Bangkok or Pattya or Chiang Mai.
The Thais are some of Asia's most gracious people, and this essence carries over to owner Tik's three restaurants in Santa Clara, Campbell, and Sunnyvale. In all places I've found the food and service to be true to Thai grace, custom, and tradition.
When I got back from Thailand in '96, I craved hot spicy food.
The only place I found to satisfy that craving was Thai Pepper. Even the Royal Family of Thailand would be proud of these culinary representations of Thai tradition, custom, and service.

There are other places in the Bay Area (including Monterey/Carmel/San Francisco, etc) which are better known, and also are easier to find, but NONE with better food, better value, and a better "feeling" than Thai Pepper, on Monroe, near Santa Clara College.

From the outside, it may look like a "forgettable" restaurant, but go inside and you'll get a meal, and service, that you will never forget! And the prices are reasonable, too . . . .

I only wish that it were open on Sundays.

Peppers and more peppers! HOTTEST thai restaurant I've ever been to. My friend handled the food just fine without a blink, but I was busy through most of the meal seeking out a waterfall of ice water to douse my tastebuds with. The server was very attentive, very helpful and generous with drinking water every 15 minutes for my burning mouth..I would recommend to have everything from the menu except the nuclear lamb dish. That one nearly sent me over the edge straight out the door. The restaurant was slow and half empty when we paid a visit during the middle of the week.

PROS: lots of choices, attentive waiter
CONS: too spicy for me

You can't go wrong at Thai Pepper - they offer what you'd expect on any Thai menu. Soups bursting with flavor (the Tom Kha is nice and sour), appetizers (the chicken satay is the best), curries, and noodles. The food in general is good - but nothing to write home about. The notable thing about their menu is the large vegetarian selection.

PROS: Excellent Chicken Satay
CONS: none

Great Food and service!!! By-far my favorite Thai restaurant. Try the Thai ice tea with red peppers in it. You MUST ask for the peppers in the ice tea. Amazing, hot, eye openning, fire breathing good drink.

This is one of my favorite places to eat at. The Thai food is always fresh and flavorful. The staff is always friendly. Everything I tried on this menu is good. I recommend the duck curry and the basil eggplant dish.
