Tofu can taste like anything

by Penny P. | insider_expert Insider Expert | Rank: 4,901

This restaurant is for everyone, not just vegetarians. All the food is fresh and the service is friendly. The dishes taste wonderful and you don't even know it's not meat, how do they do that, it's fabulous.

I love eating here with my husband. The restaurant has a mellow and relaxing atmosphere and the food is yummy. Do not expect any meat dishes here. Reasonably priced. Excellent service.

Veggie Food

by S. A. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,198

Chinese vegetarian food at moderate prices. This is a great place to take your meat eating friends - if they don't read the menu too carefully, they won't even know that they're not eating meat!

Great Vegan Chinese Restaurant!

by natalia13reagan

My family, friends and I have been going to Veggie Delight (as fans have affectionately called it) for over a decade. The food is amazing and can easily pass for the "real" deal. An old boyfriend didn't even know his "chicken" wasn't real chicken till after the meal was done. Having grown up going to Chinatown with my folks, I have been dying to find vegetarian sizzling rice soup . Veggie Delight makes a delicious sizzling rice soup, complete with faux pork and shrimp (it?s since become my go-to ?feel-better-when -I'm-sick? soup). The fish in bean sauce is to die for as is the orange pork (I prefer it non-fried). The lemon chicken is also quite savory. I highly recommend Veggie Delight to all foodies; vegetarians, vegans, and meat eaters alike!

Pros: Sizzling Rice Soup, Fake Fish, Shrimp, Orange Chicken

Cons: It's not closer to where I live... :)

I have been coming to Vegetable Delight for over tens years.....trust me I've tried almost every other veggie restaurant and none compare. They treat us like family, right when we walk they already know our order. Try the Orange "Chicken" it's the best!!

Amazing [Vegetarian] Chinese Food!

by Briannna

I've lived less than a mile from this place for 3 years, and I just now discovered it (thanks to Urbanspoon on my iPhone). I regret all the years that we missed out on this awesome restaurant! This restaurant is entirely vegetarian/vegan, and the whole first page of their menu explains what makes up each of the "meats" listed in the meals. I ordered sweet & sour "pork" which was incredible. We also had the paper wrapped chicken which was soOo good. Being a vegetarian for 6 years now, I can say this is easily one of the best vegetarian restaurants I've ever been to!

Pros: Selection, Price

Hands-down best veggie / vegan restaurant ever!

by octopuscrime

I absolutely love this restaurant. I don't thing I have had anything off of the menu I didn't like. I can even bring my meat-eating friends here without fear of reprisal since the food is simply delicious without being too crunchy-hippie-weird-vegan. I highly recommend the Mushroom Orange Chicken and the hot and sour soup. My only complaint is that they're currently closed for a week or two while the family that owns it is on vacation. I need my fix!

Pros: delicious, cheap, fresh, ample street parking, never crowded, awesome ceiling tiles

Cons: not open right now!

by notatripper

This place has the best chinese vegan vegetarin food ever. Some foods are battered in a whey based mix ,FYI. Not a "fancy" place, so go for the food and the company.

Pros: Easy parking. Fantastic food, very affordable.Large portions

Cons: Could use some redecorating.

My FAVORITE Restaurant in the U.S.A.

by krinda

Wow, wow, wow! I've been dining there for years, and love and adore the two servers (Bill and Lee), and absolutely go CRAZY for all the great (and inexpensive) food! Beef and Broccoli, Lemon Chicken, the Assorted Appetizers, the Wonton Soup.....outstanding! Bring your friends and family, and share everything! VERY casual atmosphere, too. Bring all your meat-eating friends, and they'll switch, for sure! Everything is VEGAN, by the way, and that is quite important for more and more animal-lovers. THE best food around!

Pros: Inexpensive, Easy parking, VEGAN

YUM!

by nicole_v

I go back over and over again for the veggie lamb!! It taste better than lamb. Some things I've tried there aren't so good, but other things are just delicious, so I'm there usually once a week. I normally don't like hot and sour soup, but I love their soup. I love the steamed wontons too.
Plus, for $5 more, you can add soup, appetizer, and desert along with the main course! It's a great deal!

Pros: inexpensive, tasty

Cons: hmmm

Maybe Not My Type of Food

by quinnfamily

My daughter & I tried some of their dishes because I was trying to be support her wanna-be-veggie phase, but we didn't really like it much. We tried the eggrolls, the rice, and another dish that I can't remember. Maybe we're just used to the more bad for you type of food, you know, the ones with too much salt, too much fat, etc. The woman that took our order seemed really nice though....

Pros: Good service., Quiet atmosphere.

Cons: Not my type of food.

My Favorite Restaurant

by diane777

The food here is GORGEOUS and tastes as good as it looks! You'll be amazed at the vege-shrimp. The flavorful different sauces served with each dish are something you'll crave after you leave. One of my favorites is the Lemon 'Chicken'. The People are friendly and it's a wonderful warm family (yet quiet) atmosphere. Feel free to even dine alone. All are very welcome!

Pros: Roomy dining area, Reasonable prices, Good Parking

Cons: Way up in the valley

Yummy Chinese Food - all Vegetarian

by waterfingers

This place is the best. Any chinese food you can image is made freshly from all non-meat ingredients (vegan items also available). Both vegetarians & their carnivorous friends will enjoy. Family run, homey atmosphere lends to the restaurants' charm. I recommend veggie orange chicken, appetizer assortment, bbq pork (stuff), & everything else I've tried. Give it a whirl - you'll enjoy. Dine in & get extra goodies w/ dinner or lunch (soup, & ice cream, in addition to appetizers, rice, & main dish).

Pros: Super Tasty, Huge Menu, Family-run business

Cons: ??low-key decor??
