I never thought buying a car could be a pleasant experience. Boy, was I wrong!

My husband and I used USAA's car buying service to locate a handful of dealerships within USAA's car buying network. Although Momentum Toyota is much closer to our home, we opted to do our test driving at Toyota Vallejo after reading so many positive reviews.

Each step of the car buying process was relaxed. When we learned that this is a family-owned business, we weren't surprised; every person with whom we interacted (e.g., Stephen and Luis in sales, Jason Sangmaster, the receptionists, financing, Willie in parts, and the cashiers) seemed to genuinely enjoy working there. We felt like everyone wanted to make the entire experience--which can be stressful in and of itself--a very positive one. Jason and Luis found and obtained the exact car we wanted and with the best deal possible. Everything was straightforward and stress-free. No bait and switch. No high pressure sales. No hidden fees. We drove away in our new vehicle very, very happy and with absolutely zero regrets or complaints. Wow.

Toyota Vallejo may not be the closest Toyota dealership to us, but they have certainly earned our business for years to come. Kudos and many thanks!!

I brought my car in for an oil change at about 10 on a Friday. The service rep (Darell) informed me it would be about 3-4 hours. That seemed reasonable to me. There were already about 7 other cars there and I didn't have an appointment. Lucky for me, I only had research to do, and that could be done from home. Darell informed me that he'd give me a call when the car's ready and I could come get it. Sounded easy enough, so I Ieft the car, caught the shuttle service home, and sat down with my phone nearby to my work, waiting for that phone call.

and I waited...

and I waited...

Eventually, it was 4:30 pm and I heard nothing about the car. It was just an oil change! So, I thought I would call over there to see what the problem was, if anything. Voicemail. I didn't want voicemail. I wanted to speak to someone that could speak back. So, I called again, this time trying a different option in the service dept. Voicemail again. I left a message (what else could I do?).

By 6 I still hadn't heard anything, so I caught a ride over there only to see my little car sitting in the parking lot collecting dust. I also noticed the service department looking mightily closed up and deserted. The man I spoke to informed me that Darell had left for the day and it looked like the car had been finished some time ago. "Didn't he call you?" he asked. No! If he did, why would I show up at closing time as angry as I am? "Oh, well, he should have called you." Seriously, he didn't flippin call me!

So, after a short exchange of me asking for my money back and this man calling me a liar, I left a very dissatisfied customer. If it weren't for my own curiosity (I hardly think waiting 8 hours qualifies as impatient), I'd never have gotten the vehicle back at all. Not what I expected at all. I would NOT RECOMMEND unless you're in the habit of wasting part of your day waiting for your car to get fixed, then getting called a liar when you complain about it

I have been going to Toyota Vallejo to have my car serviced for many years and they are the best. I did try a couple of other places thinking I would save in some way but that was not the case. The employees are great, I am always happy with their work and their prices are competitive to other local shops. I recommend them highly.

The most pleasant dealership that I've had. Ive visited them 4 times before purchasing my car. Each one of those times, the salesmen helped me out without no problems and no hassle. I would definitely recommend this to all my friends.

My fiance and I visited five different dealerships between Vallejo and Davis before deciding on a car (3 Nissan dealerships and 2 Toyota). Vallejo Toyota was by far the best! Cal was our salesman and he was genuinely friendly, honest and helpful which is a rarity in the car dealership business.
We ended up getting a Nissan Versa SL the next day simply because it was more of what we were looking for. However, if we had decided to get a Scion, we definitely would have gotten it here (even though we could get the same price here in Davis due to Toyota's no haggling policy) because we thought Cal was so great.

I was very pleased with my experience when purchasing my car. The sales person along with whom I came in contact with were all very nice. I felt like I was treated honestly, and from my experience I had with Nissan of Antioch last year I will recommend Toyota of Vallejo to my friends.

Thank you for being treated fairly and honestly. I truly appreciated it.

This is where I purchased my car. My uncle, Dan Teruel, sold me my car (of course!). Although there was no way for me to haggle (I bought a Scion tC which is under the "pure pricing"), he treated me like he would any other customer. They have a pretty big fleat of cars and everyone on staff that I've encountered was very nice!
Even though I live in the city now, I still get my oil changed in Vallejo, just because their service is that good! They do tend to get busy on Saturdays, but what place doesn't?
The guys in customer service are always saying hi, and always help me out. When I first got my car, I thought I had so many things wrong with it, but it just turned out, I didn't know how to use it! Going to the guys in Cust Svc helped me out and never made me feel stupid, even tho I did feel ridiculous not knowing how to use my window wipers!! =)

Great place, Great location, Great people!

I've never had an easier car buying experience, and our family buys lots of cars. I showed up to find the exact car the manager, John Ingram, told me they had and the price was exactly what he quoted me on the phone. The internet manager was my salesperson and was he great. Didn't treat me like an idiot, or come off like a slimeball. Even the coffee was good (I think they have real starbucks in there)!

My step-mom and I went to the Vallejo Toyota to look for a car for me and this is where I actually bought my car. They have a fairly big lot and we thought that since we were buying the car in Vallejo we would be paying the lower sales tax here that if we got it from the other side of the Carquinez Bridge. Anyway, it took us over an hour to finally get the price to where we wanted and I finally got my car.

When we were shopping for a used car this is one of the places that I felt treated us honestly. When we told them our price range they didn't immediately show us cars priced a thousand dollers above that like other places did. The still made a fuss of haggling when made a decision to buy, but all in all, it was a less painfull experience than most used car dealerships I've visited.

PROS: Didn't push us to buy a more expensive car than we wanted
CONS: Haggling over finial price drug out a bit.
