so yes, this IS THE PLACE for karaoke in East Anaheim. The back bar was remodeled(again), and the comfy booths were brought back(i think the SAME ones they took out). Always a fun time at the RIO. The sound system is out of this world and one of THE best karaoke sound systems ive EVER heard. And you cannot forget Smitty. He is a fixture in the karaoke community. Smitty has been hosting at the RIO for almost 13 years. Always quick with a joke between songs, will sing you a "special birthday song" on your birthday. No one is a stranger her too long. Once you come to the RIO..you will be hooked.

Behind the bars(one in the karaoke lounge, and one up front), are: Natalie, Brenda, Susie, Shelly, and the newest member of the RIO family...Norma. so come on down to shoot some pool, toss some darts, sing some karaoke and GET DRUNK!!!
karaoke is SEVEN nights a week.....It DOES get packed on Friday and Saturday nites.....the best nites to do alot of singing are tuesdays and wednesday nites. Yes, Sunday and Monday nites are $1 a song nites....thats because Smitty is only paid to be there Tuesdays thru Saturdays. But, the $1 you pay to sing, goes to a GREAT charity.

The Rio Vista Inn has been a hot spot in Anaheim for over 10 years, starting off as a restaurant and nightclub. It has slowing transformed into mostly a bar/nightclub with darts, pool, video games and karaoke.

The Rio Vista Inn has just hired new cooks and is in the process of revamping it's kitchen to offer a full service menu to compliment the nightly activities.

Sunday evenings they are showing free movies at 7:00 p.m., there are darts games, pool tournaments and showing sporting events on its eight TV screens.

At 9:00 p.m. seven nights a week Smitty spins karaoke tunes for all of us to sing our hearts out. There is Brenda, Liz, Mike, Shelley, Natalie and Kelly pouring drinks for you.

I highly recommend this as a place to start coming to if you are looking for the "Cheers" of Anaheim. I am definitely looking forward to seeing the new menu when it comes out.

Many in the Los Angeles area consider The Rio a Karaoke Mecca. Multitalented KJ, Smitty, has been hosting Karaoke at this joint, seven nights a week, for over ten years. The man is a living legend. You really haven't done Karaoke proper until you've payed homage to the master.

The bar, unfortunately, was remodled a few years back, replacing the dimly lit booths with high tables and barstools. What has survived durring the transformation was the good vibe of the patrons. The place was once frequented solely by the 40+ crowd. It now attracts a much younger crowd, but it hasn't become so hip as to lose it's homey appeal.

Avoid Sundays and Mondays, as Karaoke is $1 a song those night. The Rio has two seperate bars, one with Karaoke, the other with two pool tables and a jukebox.

Karaoke starts at 9PM and ends at 2. Be prepared to get drunk and dance, people come here to do some hard drinking. Later in the evening, an inpromptu dance party usually gets going, with stangers becoming drunken friends and usually the whole bar starts singing along with favorite Karaoke songs.
