I just wanted to comment on what I have been reading, let me tell you about my dog Bear, well I started taking him to Dr Fahmy's office when he no older than 3 months and his diagnosis was Liver Shunts what a horrible disease if it had not been for the good Dr. I would not have had almost four and a half yrs with one of the truly BEST FRIENDS I have ever had, the Dr. was kind, compasisonate, and one of the best vet's in the San Fernando Valley and his prices if they had not been as low as they were I would not have been able to take Bear to see him, I called a couple of other vet's and they wanted at least two hundred dollars to even walk in their office when you live on a fixed income well I'm just going to leave it at that. I thank God every day that I had Bear for Dr. Fahmy. Thank You Dr. Fahmy for taking care of my boy for as long and as cheap as you did.

I have saved two liters of kittens with panluek because Dr. Famy is one of the only vets to perscribe Tamiflu. Panluek kittens usually die. He has helped me with many litters of feral kittens with prices I could afford. He always makes time for me even when he is busy.

I had a very good experience with the Dr. & his staff when I brought in a rescue for a low cost spay. She was not an easy spay since she was in season. They prescribed an antibiotic for her due to the complexity of the spay. When I took her in to have the staples taken out the Tech could not have been more kind or gentle with her.

Excellent Vet! I worked for him for two years - his main concern is the animals. He doesn't try to gouge people to take care of their pets. I have seen him lose much money to take care of an animal when people can't afford things and he does it for them anyway.

I saw some of the previous reviews and I can say the feral thing is definately not true He risks a lot to take care of all of the homeless kitties out there and in the two years I was there, he never didn't fully anesthetize an animal before surgery - that is ridiculous. I was there for the feral the previous reviewer talked about and it wasn't due to too much anesthesia, it was a feral cat! Meaning homeless and unhealthy, and we are very careful to warn people that there can be things wrong with them that you don't know. That poor cat could have been safe if he had been properly checked before hand - which you cannot do to a feral properly because it has to be anesthetized before it can be checked. We made sure people sign a form telling them all of this.

And the dog who died with the spay is not true either. Lesson to the consumer. When a vet tells you to spend the money to do a blood panel and have an IV, do it. Don't tell them it is unnecessary because you can't afford it. If you can't afford it, don't do the surgery. If your dog gets sick after the surgery and we suggest you take it to an emergency care clinic, (because he is not a 24 hour care clinic) and you say no because you can't afford it, don't blame the vet. Dr. Fahmy truly believes it is wrong to cheat people, a trait lost in the world today. Oh, and I love that he pulls out books for reference to make sure he is doing the right thing and to read to his clients and makes copies of the pages for his clients so they are well informed. I do pet rescue and still continue to bring my pets there and refer him to others.

We took our cat in to this vet and they did a blood panel and urinalysis and sent us home, they called the next day and told us that our cat was in severe kidney failure and was recommending euthanasia. My dad took this really bad and was considering taking the cat in based on what the vet told us. Our cat started to feel and act better so we waited. He still wasn't right but her didn't seem like a dying cat either. We got some opinions from people who have dealt with cats and they recommended another vet (Northridge Veterinary Center). We took our cat there a week after the initial visit at Chatsworth. This doctor also did a blood panel and perscribed fluid injections and a antibiotic treatment. His blood results are a complete 180 for the better. The vet at Chatsworth did not perscribe any treatment nor did he schedule any kind of follow up to be sure of the blood panel. Had the cat not started acting better, my dad would have made the decision to put his cat down, based on what the doctor said. At the very least the vet should have perscribed some sort of treatment and sceduled a follow up blood test.

This is a man who does not have any compassion for animals. He killed 3 ferals and passed it off as "Well they aren't really pets anyway"He tried to cut down on costs by not using complete anesthesia while doing surgery and performed neuters while cats were still lucid! He wasn't watching anesthetic and left it too high during another surgery and this cat died on the table. After bringing it back to life, the cat was brain dead and had to be put down anyway. He knows nothing about the medicine of animals and constantly is bringing out books for reference. This evil man told me to put my baby down because there was no hope in recovery. The same baby was taken to a competant vet who saved his life and is functioning perfectly.DO NOT TAKE YOUR ANIMALS HERE - IF YOU WANT TO GET THEM BACK HOME SAFE!

I would never recommend this vet to anyone. I goal is to see them out of business FOREVER. I took my dog in for a spay on March 27th 2008. I was given this dog by a family that was getting foreclosed on. I had the dog checked out and told the vet i was told she was 5 years old. At her pre-op inspection the vet never question my guess of her age. When I picked her up from the spay the doctor said she was old at about 8 or 9. I was furious to wonder why this only now after the surgery was that brought to my attention and that maybe had they called me ahead and said it would be a difficult recovery I would have opted not have it done. later that night she wasn't eating or drinking. I called the vet the following morning and they stated if no improvement I would have to bring my almost 100lb dog in for fluids and pain shot.

We took her in and they came to my car and gave her fluids and pain shot (this is Friday). Come Saturday she still wasn't eating or drinking. My concerns grew. We again took her in for more fluids. She still wasn't eating and even refused baby food. Our first sign of hope came Sunday afternoon where we got her to eat a small bone. Monday morning at 5AM she took her last breath. It was clear by the swelling and tempeture of her belly she had an intrnal infection. No antibiotics were giving to me at any time. My family was heart broken. When we took her to the vet on Monday morning to show them what they had done they tried to charge us $1 per pound to dispose of her treating us like she was trash and waste.

They have cold hearts and should no longer be able to practice medicine. Dr. Fahmy killed my dog and didn't take our concerns for real.

My dog got into the chocolate left out by my two year old today and I called all around. I couldn't get an appointment anywhere, and the emergency vets I called refused to give any info over the phone and wanted too much money for an emergency.

I called Devonshire animal Hospital and the girl sho answered the phone actually was a tech and gave me great advice over the phone and was so understanding and sweet. She squeezed me in between two other appointments and told me how to induce vomiting over the phone. I went in and the docotr was so nice (Dr. Fahmy). He took the time to help me and I was amazed at the prices. I will definately go back there and recommend this place to all of you.

PS - Dr. Deam no longer owns this practice.

These are the folks who told me that my cat was not gonna make it and not to get attached to him. This is the same cat I have now had for 8 years and counting. Maybe its time to retire.

We were able to schedule a same day appointment, and greeted by very friendly staff. Our pets were well taken care of, and they seemed very knowledgeable. Their prices are very comparable to others vets, and the office was clean. I would definitely bring my pet back.
