I have been a member at this gym for 9 years. Since this new gym has been built I have not been happy. The amenities are nice but, I do not enjoy going to workout and having to stand around and wait for almost every machine I choose to use. There has been nothing but membership promoting to add more and more people to this gym. And the more they add people the higher my monthly fees seem to be. The new location has added a minimum of $15 a month and I do not even get the courtesy of price increase in the mail, I get to find out from my bank draft.
I have even tried going at different times such as mid morning, afternoon, to evenings. Just too many people for one location. There needs to be a second location in Ceres. If the old location had been left open I would be there just to avoid the crowd. I have tried the Modesto locations also which are too overcrowded. Another mention is the cleanliness of the pool, it is not clean.

The club opened around February of 2008. I joined the gym for $30/month on a single membership. Later, I had my family join for a total of $70/month. It was a good deal for the equipment, free childcare, and swimming pool. We were quite pleased with the amenities. The main downfall was their customer service. Management was inconsistent and appeared inexperienced. We were members until Fall of 2009.

I've been training for a triathlon and need to swim laps in the pool. The pool always has kids in the swim lanes and the floating lines have been broken for some time. When I asked at the front desk why kids are in the swim lanes, I was just brushed off. If you want to swim for exercise, don't join this gym. The pool is just a play area for children. The gym is also very crowded.

Okay, I know this is a health club, but I have some disabilities from military service, so it's difficult to walk upstairs to the cardio area - I don't remember seeing an elevator. Also, I can't go when I'm most motivated to exercise because my baby is only 3 months old, and the Kids Club doesn't watch anyone younger than 6 months (we're new to the area, so we haven't yet found a babysitter).

Other than that, this place, like all of the other locations in this chain, has a lot to offer. Cardio machines, weight machines and free weights, pool, whirlpool, sauna, steam room, Kids Club, group exercise. For someone who's not otherwise motivated to exercise, this place allows me to exercise in more than one way - and that's very important to me. I only wish they offered yoga.

I am so excited the In-Shape City is open! This club is really nice and has a lot to offer. Opening day was fun, they had a lot of giveaways and other fun stuff. The club is a lot bigger than the old one and has a lot more equipment and amenities. I am curious to try out this new "Re-Shape 29-Minute Circuit" - it is supposed to be like what Curves has only anyone can use it. It mixes up cardio and strength training and is supposed to work your whole body in just 29 minutes which would be perfect during my lunch break.
