Berkeley Outlet

I usually check out the Berkeley Outlet first to see if they have what I need before I spend too much money elsewhere. I buy file cabinets there - very cool heavy steel cabinets that have personality - something I never see at the mainstream office places. I love wandering around the big warehouse to see what other interesting and unusual pieces they have - office chairs, tables, desks and other misc. treasures. Friendly & helpful low-pressure sales.

December 2006 the number's still good and they're open til 5. I let them know that there was a rumor on the web that they had closed, so maybe they'll post something, too. Dashing off! --The Canoodler

These days, modern offices are all about the cubes. The Berkeley Outlet is a throwback to the days when office furniture was massive and hulking, made out of wood or steel, impossible to move, and vaguely forboding. They've got things like old card catalogs, gym lockers, gradeschool desks, ergonomic keyboard slides, and various other items you can use creatively...so long as you can actually move them.
