Futon Shop

After I learned that my back deck of the futon was cracked, I went to the Futon Shop at Encino. They told me to contact the RMA dept via email. I emailed them. They replied me once when they ask if it's cracked on my seat deck or back deck., so I replied back quickly. After that, they never replied back. That was last summer (july 2008). So I decided to tried it again today (Jan 2009) because my sister in law is moving in. I emailed them the same thing. They seem to improved by replied back sooner, but they said "it is too late". Huh ? Why they did not answer sooner on last July. Looks like they did on purpose to wait till the warranty expired then say "Oh too late". Ripped off. Please do not buy anything from the Futon Shop. Terrible and dishonest service. Stay away from them.

I bought a futon 7 years ago at this store because it was the best price I could find. I still have the futon and it is still in good condition. I was going to buy a futon cover there today but their cheapest was $80. They are good for a shop that you can shop in person at, but they are not competitive with online prices.

Bought an $800 futon mattress 3 years ago; it has a "lifetime expectancy" of 10-15 years, but developed a serious dip in the middle of the bed, even after following all directions such as flipping the bed every month. Spoke with the San Fransisco as well as the Los Angeles stores, and no satisfaction, not even a better deal on buying a new bed, was given. DON'T TRUST THE LIFETIME EXPECTANCY. DON'T BELIEVE THEM WHEN THEY TELL YOU YOUR BED WILL LAST YOU 10 YEARS. IT WON'T LAST YOU EVEN THREE.

CONS: Terrible quality, expensive, false advertising.

Looked around here, have many different futons and frames, better than the rest of the chop shops -- however you do pay a steep price premium for that. Service is good and friendly, and the futons are some of the newer designs.

PROS: Selection, design, quality
CONS: Price
