NEVER stay here with an RV unless you are fond of thousands of ants all over your stuff. We were here for about 3 hrs before the ants starting invading our RV. There was no one on the property to help so we had to just leave. It was 9pm

I went fishing there this saturday for the first time and it was a huge mistake from 1pm to 10pm. The Lake was way too crowded to even enjoy fishing. Peoples lines were getting tangled with each others atleast a dozen times. I didn't want to cast my line out in fear of getting caught on someone elses. The employee's were friendly , but you can tell that they feared the people their. All around us people were breaking the parks rules and regulations. The staff that would walk around the lake didn't even bother to approach the people and confront them of breaking the rules. I counted atleast 2-5 people around us that didn't have tags on their wrists and were still fishing. When the staff would noticeable be walking around the lake, the ones that were fishing and breaking the rules would simply leave their poles by the shore and walk away when the staff was getting closer.

Fishing is supposed to be an enjoyable family gathering. However I didn't enjoy my time their one bit. There was music being played so loud that I couldn't hear my step-dad that was no more than 15ft away. People were cursing from across the lake and I could hear them clearly when the music died down. Adults were drinking alcoholic beverages and were having their children bring them their alcohol.

There was a lady that had caught what seemed to be a very nice catch ( 10" + trout ). First she yanked the fish on shore and I'm okay with that. But some douche bag from their group took the hook out and put the fish back in the water. He didn't just toss the fish in the water or even put the fish in the water by hand. He threw the fish atleast 20 + yards back in the water. I know it's just a fish, but it's a meal to someone less fortunate. I'm sure the owner of the place who pays alot of money doesn't want hurt/dead fish thrown back in.

Another thing...If you bring your dogs to the park do not have your children take them for a walk when the dogs can easily over power your child. There was a kid walking two dogs around the lake and the dogs were leading the kid. The two dogs easily over powered the kid and could be harmful and deadly to other people their. I was very uneased about have my back turned to dogs that could easily reach and attack me if they wanted. One occasion the dogs got so close that they went infront of me and between the bank, knocked over my pole and the owner had to raise the leash so it wouldn't hit my head.

Other than all the bad stuff their.

The staff was very friendly.
The lake has a nice cool breeze to it.
the pelicans, the ducks and the birds gave a nice calming tranquility sensation.
The fishing was okay, my mother caught a 12" trout.
YOU CAN CATCH SOME RECORD FISH HERE...EXCELLENT...

I'm informing you that if you do go...

Bring a friend for protection incase a fight were to break out.
Bring an Ipod or an mp3 player.
Leave your wallet in your car.
keep your vehicle in eyesight distance.
bring sun block.
wear a hat.
make sure you bring your fishing experience with you.

All in all it wasn't worth the $50 I spent their.
You can try your luck at the big catch, but it will take you all day to get that monster..

Good Luck

Hesperia Lake is a great place to camp and fish for families, we have a great time every time we visit. I feel the Lake should have special packages for Campers who are there to fish, It was quite costly the last two times I brought my family there camping because of the fishing fee's, and you have to pay twice to fish during the day and at night. That is way to much money when your paying for 2 adults and 2 children twice a day because your there camping and to fish. Way too much, the park should have special 's for Camping/Fishing or specials like Santa Ana river lakes have, moonlight maddness: $40 per family to camp and fish for 24 hours(2adults and up to 3 children)

Hesperia Lakes is located off of Arrowhead Lake Rd. on the outskirts of Hesperia. If your driving down Main St. going East , Main St. will turn into Arrowhead Lake Rd. It is a nice place to go for a picnic, bbq, or have a birthday party. They have picnic tables and bbq's that sit under huge large trees that provide lots of shade. There is a small lake where you can fish for a fee and there is also camping available. There is lot sof parking either in the front of the facility or in the back. There is a large grass area located in back where they might have soccer games or baseball games going on.
