I've lived in the South Bay for almost eight years, but only just discovered Seafood Port. The Vietnamese American woman who cuts my hair told me the food at this restaurant is better than the food in San Francisco's Chinatown, and based on one visit, I'd have to agree that it's very fine. There were lots of Asian family groups at the tables around us, eating well and looking happy.

I prefer this Seafood Port over others because it excels in almost everything I look for in Chinese food: good tasting dishes, enough to get full, and relatively cheap prices. For example, shrimp dishes seem to be $3 less than other

This is a spot that one of the locals took me to when I first moved into town, and it has always provided great flavor. The crunchy salt-and-pepper eat-in-shell shrimp is my favorite, especially because the scallops aren't quite as good here as some places. Don't pass up some of the vegetable options either, because some of those have the most authentic flavor.

I never lived in the area, but each time I pass through, I have to stop by for their Tofu dish--the braised tofu with vegetables. The service is alright, and I really like the dessert they always give you.
