I went to this place for the first time after hearing all of Davis say how awesome it was. I showed up right at 5 pm on a Thursday and was the first ones in and was able to sit by this awesome bar with little boats floating around with yummy stuff to just grab and eat! For being a buffet, I thought it was excellent quality and delicious! Try the Davis Roll!! If you dont like sushi, your other options are good soup, potstickers, wontons, etc. Will go again!!

Cheap...but good! This is my favorite sushi buffet that actually has good sushi. They offer their all-you-can-eat special every day of the week starting at 11AM until 2PM for as low as 10.95! There's usually a huge line but its worth the wait. Either show up early to be the first group to get in or come around 1pm and wait for about 20-30min max. Staff is friendly and work to get you in quick and quickly get you out. You sort of feel like cattle but who can really sit for over an hour or two eating sushi anyway? Try the fried banana, fried soft shell crab, fried oysters, or Y2K roll.

I love this place. The sushi is fresh and tasty. The chefs are always willing to make you anything that isn't already present. There is also a lot of alternatives for people who aren't so fond of raw fish such as beef teriyaki, sesame chicken, cucumber salad, gyoza and egg rolls. Their fried bananas are delicious!
Parking can be a pain. The lot across the street is 90 minutes and the rest of the block is 2 hours. This can be a big problem since there is always a long line of people waiting to get into the restaurant. I've gone by and seen people waiting out there at 9 am and they don't open their doors till 11 am! Word of warning: if you decide to come early bring someone with you since they will be needed to hold your place in line while you re-park.
Oh and be on guard for those pesky line cutters and people who place save. Fuji never does anything about them and I'm getting tired of waiting since 9:30 am for the bar only to get beat out by some college kid and their 10 friends who decided to show up ten minutes before they open.

Pros: excellent sushi and non sushi items, friendly staff

Cons: little parking, long lines, long waits, noisy, crowded

Far and away, the best sushi buffet I've ever experienced. The wait can be prohibitive, I usually have a backup plan in case I arrive to huge crowds. If you can afford to wait, it's worth it. Staff are friendly, chefs will make almost anything upon request. I really don't know why I'm writing this, I don't need any more competition for seating! Try the hemi sushi; ebi over rice which is battered and fried, topped with sweet and spicy sauces plus tobiko. We call it the "crispy creme of the sushi world". Make sure you get a hot, fresh one. Very good spider rolls, dragon rolls, you name it. Vegetarian fare gladly made to order. End your meal on a sweet note with sliced oranges or fried bananas. True, it isn't the finest sushi I've EVER tasted, but it is very, very good quality for buffet sushi. Super highly recommended. Lunch only! Dinner is not buffet style.

If you're not afraid of raw fish then this place is home for you.
I was so amazed with the customer service, the food, everything about it.
I have to warn you though " SHOW UP EARLY" or you'll be at the end of the long,
long line, not to mention away from the nice sushi bar. Of Course we were at the bar,
it was wonderfull, the chef were very nice, and you can ask for anything you want, without getting
out of your chair. Customer service was great, my glass was never empty and food just kept coming.
I highly recomend this place, cheap price, great sushi. I loved it !!!!

The wait is INSANE, but worth it for the food. The line will literally have 500 people in it waiting for 2 hours to get in. If youre not in the first 150 or so, expect to wait for everyone else to fill their bellies. The staff is very unfriendly and literally hover over you waiting to grab your little sushi plates when youre done with them. I dont know about you but that drives me crazy. Dont expect more than a couple of refills on your drinks either, However, there is one guy behind the bar, seems like the owner or related to, who is very friendly and will bend over backwards to make what you want. The rest of the staff is a like a drone army that mutter and occasional " ugh". The food quality is comparable to any sushi restaurant cheap or expensive. The person who said the raw fish is terrible is totally wrong. Ive been everywhere there is for sashimi and this place among the best. ONLY PATRONIZE THIS ESTABLISHMENT IF YOU ARE A DIE HARD SUSHI FAN.

Ever since i've graduated from UC Davis back in 2000 and have moved down to L.A., everytime I'm up in the Davis/Sacramento area, I make it a point to eat at Fuji's for lunch. And yes you need to get there an hour and a half before opening time but man it's worth the wait.

I have been going to Fuji for serveral years now. I very much enjoy the sushi and the price for the all you can eat lunch cannot be beat. You can order anything you want and they will give all you want. It is a very busy place, people begin lining up outside sometimes more than an hour before the 11:30 am opening time. They have a sign-up sheet for either the sushi bar or a table, you can sign up for both, and they will call your name when there is apace available, sometimes the wait is long, but worth it, bring a book or magazine to pass the time.

The sushi is okay, Salmon usually frozen, but if you go for the Sushi buffet at lunch, for 10$ you can get anything, ask for a spider roll you get it, you can ask for them to make the rainbow roll and they'll ask you how many....You can just ask for a dish of the soft shell crabs and they'll get you it....I'm still wondering how they don't go out of business...also get the fried bananas...every time we head to Tahoe and back from Tahoe...it's become a tradition to stop by Fuji's

Many people hear about Fuji's in downtown Davis and drive here just for the all you can eat sushi. It's very popular and often very crowded so come here early since you will probably have to wait in line. The sushi itself is good and since its unlimited you can just keep taking the good ones. However, know what to order since they don't necessarily have a menu for you so bring a knowledgeable friend who knows sushi!

Many college students at Davis would wait up to 45mins before getting seats at this restaurant. They offer wide range of all you can eat sushi buffet at a nice price during lunch time! Recently, they add more dishes tothe buffet boats like oyster and kabob. I also love their bento boxes because they come in big size at a price around 11-13$. If you are there for just the entree, usually you can eat each order for 2 meals!!!
I only don't suggest donburi as much there.. i mean they come in big sizes as well but it's not as tasty. Other than that, it's spiffy!

A very good lunch sushi buffet. There are a huge variety to choose from and you can ask the chefs there to make something of your liking such as a whole spider roll, fried oysters, or tempura platter. Get there early to beat the looooooong line.

The sushi was disgusting...rubbery, fishy...definitely not fresh. Save your $10 and go get a sushi roll elsewhere.

This restaurant is always packed and for $9.95 for all you can eat sushi in the middle of a college town you can understand why, but that says nothing about the quality of the fish, which is terrible. If you are not picky about your sushi Fuji's is a great deal otherwise stick to the teriyaki.

Excellent price for the buffet. Overall, the sushi and the rest of the food is just like what you'd get at the typical Japanese restaurant, but the price is definitely hard to beat! The staff is okay, not overly friendly, but they're always so busy, it's easy to forgive them.

The sushi was good, much cheaper than the average sushi restaurants in the sacramento area. price were very affordable. the sushi portions are much bigger than most sushi restaurants that I've been to in this area. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have the all-you-can-eat sushi for dinner. It was my first time visiting Fuji Sushi, my friend refer me to go there to check out their sushi buffet, too bad there was none not even on a Friday night!

This is the best place around to have a all you can eat sushi lunch! Get there early because the line starts forming about an hour early. The food is always fresh & the sushi chefs are great about taking special orders.
