We recently ate at Pasta Pomodoro in Union City. We both ordered a dish off of their Brunch Menu. Sausage with egg, cooked in a mini iron pan in oven. We were told their oven was not working and we would have to have scrambled eggs which was fine with us. It was the absolute worse food I have eaten. It tasted like you were eating a lump of grease, we tried to eat it but gave up. It was the next day before we could get the greasy taste out of our mouths. We mentioned this to the waiter, he said he would tell them. He did not, we were totally ignored so we finally gave up and left. We emailed the company and complained about the bad food but they also ignored us. Will not eat there again or recommened it to anyone.

I love to dine in Pasta Pomodoro that's located in Santana Row.
I loved the food there as well as the atmosphere. And last week, I went to this Pasta Pomodoro in Union City, thinking that the food wil taste same as the one in Santana Row. But boy,,, their food was disappointment. I ordered grilled chicken, it was all burnt, and it didn't taste merely as good as the Santana Row Pasta Pomodoro. My husband didn't even finish his dish... it was that~~ bad.. The price of the dishes are same as the other Past Pomodoros... If i'm paying for the same price, I definitely will not go to Pasta Pomodoro in Union City..

Is it me or was Pomodoro a good deal better a few years ago? This is a chain Italian trying harder than usual to be hip and upscale. It succeeds in most regards with bright, modern interiors and a good-sized menu featuring a few interesting combinations alongside the traditional. Of the salads on offer, caprese and mista are quite satisfying. Of the starters, the bruchetta, the ravioli di zucca (stuffed with butternut squash and topped with a nice butter/sage/brown sugar sauce) and the polenta are clear winners.

Of the main courses I can only dimly recall that the lasagne and the bolognese were faves of mine in my meat-eating days. These days I stick with the capellini pomodoro, the ravioli di magro and the fettuccine. To be honest these dishes are prepared adequately but with far less love and care than in times past. I have seen them burn the garlic at some locations which is entirely unforgivable at these prices. After all, I can burn my own garlic at home for far less than 7 dollars.

I would like to see a note on the menu to the effect that they will make any dish without meat if you order it that way and I would like to see a touch more love in the simpler dishes. The lunch foccacia sandwiches are delicious and a good deal with a small salad or soup included.

I love Pasta Pomodoro restaurants. They offer great pastas and salads at extremely low prices ($7 for pasta.) my favorite pasta is the one with creamy sauce and smoked chicken!

PROS: pastas
CONS: nothing really

Pasta Pomodoro is a medium-sized restaurant with a modern look. Workers are friendly and the service is good. The price is average and the food is pretty good for the price. I would recommend this place if you want to dine for a date or with friends.
