My daughter just graduated to Kindergarten more than prepared after spending three years at Los Feliz Corners( she actually says that Kindergarten is too easy).

She loved corners, she loved the teachers and her friends. We have a set of twins we plan to send there in a year.

If you want a sterile, controlled corporate environment, this is not the school for you. If you want your child to nurtured, loved, and allowed to thrive, this school is perfect.

I highly recommend this preschool.

My son is covered under the Lanterman Regional Center and I originally called them to see if they were vendored. I did visit a few that were, along with this one and although they are not currently vendored, I was offered a reimbursement option, which covers less but because my almost-3 year-old loves it so much we decided to stay. I can't really say enough about this place. It is truly a magical place for children because everything they could possibly want and need is here. Toy cars,Toys, playhouses, sandboxes and plenty of room to run around. A nurturing, completely safe haven where individuality, independence, confidence, comfort, esteem and happiness is constantly encouraged and embraced and upheld every minute of every day. Each teacher has something unique and special to offer, yet everyone is consistently, as a group, bringing about the same result. Kristy, the Director is very kind and has so many great ideas of everything from potty training, to encouraging learning to helping a new child develop his/her comfort level. She greatly aids in each child fitting in an participating in his/her own unique way. Kent has this very gentle calm and warm approach that results in every child wanting to please him. He knows how to talk to them and he is constantly watching every child. Steve has a big heart and knows how to motivate the children. There's not a diaper that goes unchanged, hands that dont get washed or an uneaten lunch under his watch. he commands a respect amongst the kids and he's so good at getting them to "clean up" the toys. When i try to get my son to do something at home that he doesnt want to do, I mention Steve. He doesn't miss a beat! Sherry has this overall Mother feel to her upbeat compassionate approach adds much to the nuturing environment. She is also great with lessons and teaching dance. Layne knows how to relate to each child so well and she is strong and attentive and she is also great with lessons, yoga, and drama. I can't think of a better team to watch over my child. I can't think of a better place for a child to spend his/her day. Of course lessons are taught, art and speech and general learning is constantly encouraged but this is a place where a child can be a child and a place where a child can and will formulate a strong foundation on which to build his/her future. What a find and here's the clincher, their prices are completely fair and ridiculously reasonable. They are clearly not in it for the money. They have clearly been doing this for quite some time and instead of becoming stagnant, they have found every way possible to remain relevant and fresh and create a perfect haven that any child would want to be a part of. My son is showing a vast improvement in his speech and behavior for just the few weeks he has been going here. The only problem my son has with this place is leaving. Need I say more?!

I took my daughter for 2 years to very expensive preschool, for some issues i had with them i took my daughter out, i checked online for another preschool in the area. I came across this page, and read all the reviews, I couldn't wait to go and check it out. First thing when i get through the gate, i thought what a difference in the appearance between the one i'm coming from and this one, then i went inside, small place and had everything that kids want and need. All the kids with different ages playing together, as we got to the farther room i see two teacher studying each with 2 kids, in a room full of books, i was impressed of what they were working on. In the way to the door kristy asked me to go home and think about it I said, i don' need to think more give me the papers that i need to fill out, and my daughter will be here tomorrow. That was the best one minute decision I made in my life.
My daughter spent one year before kindergarten there, she learned so much, her reading is 2nd grade level by the end of the year. Krysty, Kent, Steve, Layne and Monica were so caring, loving, peaceful, smart, fun........... all you can think of ideal teachers. I can't really say anough about them and i can't thank them anough, I'm so grateful for an excellent job they did with my daughter. I recommend this school to everyone. Trust me you and your kid will be so happy here. you will not regret it i promise.

My daughter just "graduated" from Los Feliz Corners in August to go to Kindergarten at Franklin Elementary. I can't imagine a better place for her to have spent her preschool days than at Los Feliz Corners. Everyone there was so knowlegable about preschoolers, (Kent, Kristy and Steve have all been doing this for 20 years!) and each teacher had their particular strengths. In the beginning what sold me and my husband on the place was the amount of play time the kids had and how happy they all sounded. The other thing was Kent, a guy I imagine most of the Dad's try to model their behavior on, spoke to the kids with respect and love while simultaneously keeping control of the playground.

What I found out later was that over the two plus years Layne and Steve taught my daughter how to read, write and add and subtract. She learned new songs. She put on shows. She got to be herself. They were such wonderful, fun and gentle teachers that my daughter now loves to learn. She's doing great in Kindergarten. Now that she's not at "Corners" any more my husband and I regularly thank the universe that she got to be there for 2 and a half really important years.

I cannot recommend the place highly enough.

this is the best kept secret in this city ,i have known so many people that took there kids from well known pre-schools ,that say they are creative ,but are really not! this place is amazing because of the people ,christy and kent are amazing they helped my son to understand sharing and allowed him to bloom at his own pace. this is where we found out his special talents ,he would put on puppet shows for anyone wanting to join . in any other place ,they would have redirected ,or tried to get involved ,they know when to allow a child to assert themselves and when to step in and show them a better way to handle a situation ,i cant say enough good things about this very special place we love you christy kent , steve!!

I can't believe how lucky I was to find Los Feliz Corners for my daughter! She received an excellent education in the basics (learning to read and write at three!), but more importantly, she learned to love learning. And the caregivers are some of the finest people on the planet. I couldn't have asked for any more loving or caring people to take care of my baby during those precious formative years. Plus, it's affordable. A beautiful, joyful experience!

I am deeply grateful to "the Corners" for the strong foundation in learning they provided for my daughter. She has benefited tremendously from all the love and care she received there. All "the Corners" kids we knew are thriving in their lives. Los Feliz Corners is a very happy place.

This is a wonderful safe, secure, small size's school ! People who works there are caring, loving, calm, smart, open mind, peaceful, generous. My child learned to read and write with them before kindergaten. You are sure to get the best for your child in term of sociabilisation... it's definitivly like a second family ! The best you can provide to your child, for an exellent start, in a great athmosphere ! I would recommend them to all my best friends, and people who shares same concept of a peaceful and loving place.

My son attended Los Feliz Corners for almost 3 years, and I am so thankful for the education and time he has spent there. Within his first 6 months he already knew phonics basics and had began reading simple words...at age 3 1/2 ! The building blocks that the teachers give these kids is invaluable! The hours are extremely flexible, and they even helped me out when I had to work a late night shift for a few months. Anybody that writes bad reviews and comments about these wonderful, loving people is going to spend alot more money elsewhere and receive an inferior educational start. Trust me, your children will LOVE the time that they grow at Los Feliz Corners!

I went here when i was younger, and i enjoyed every bit of it. I was in dance and learned how to read at a very young age. This school has the nicest loving and caring people you could find. They were like another family to me. I recommend Highly. Sure your kid will come home messy from time to time but its most likely the best experience. Take this from someone who went there. Yes, its sorta a free minded hippie school but going there gave me personality and my own voice. Even if your child has very severe autism, its still a great place and they handle them with great care. I really do hope you send your child here, you wont regret it.

My 4 year old twins love this school, same as their 6 year old brother did when he went there (by the time he started kindergarten, he was adding, reading, and writing). My twins are already reading simple words, understand the concept of vowels, and come home each day having worked hard at lessons and playing. The dance lessons are awesome, as are the arts and crafts projects. They have great reading and math programs. I highly recommend this school both for the curriculum and the socialization. The playtime may look unstructured, but the teachers have a keen eye on the kids, and nip any agressive or bullying behavior in the bud. The only con is the occasional lost sock.

We are new in town and could not get on the waiting list for all the schools we thought were best for our daughter. We began at Los Feliz Corners with the idea that it would be great for the summer until the fancy schools could work her in. It just seemed like a free for all when we entered.. tons and tons of activities, toys, games, kids from 2-5 all over the place. No way, we thought, is she going to learn a thing.. its "camp" we said. Well, I lay down to read with our daughter and she is sounding out letters and learning to read, she is singing songs I did not teach her, she is learning and loving it. She learned more in a few weeks here then the schools we sent her before that cost 3 times as much. She is now a self starter.. she learns because she loves it.. she is learning also to find her own place as opposed to having the world laid out in a neat row for her.. which is not the world we live in and far from the world she will inhabit as an adult. We love this school.. It is amazing, special and one of a kind.. So, in sum.. yeah, high on chaos, but also on learning and love....

The school was first recommended to me by several friends. The teachers are very caring and patient. I was surprised by the comments made by Ruth. She said her child was not given water, but there is a child sized drinking fountain always available to the kids. I also have never seen the school look dirty. Maybe somewhat cluttered, but there are lots of creative toys and materials for the kids to use. I think Ruth must have had a misunderstanding about her child's shy behavior, because the teachers are very friendly, and I am sure they would have helped clear it up if she had talked to them. The school has a very good, balanced learning program that is individualized. I have known some families whose kids went on to elementary school, and their kids were very well prepared.

My son started attending at about 3 and a half years old , just twice a week. They are very flexible and my child love's it. The teacher's are kinda older hippie types but friendly and seem to genuinely love the kids. Lots of free play and learning but not on a strict schedule.......no pre-school gestapo here! My son is always dirty from playing and having fun when I go to pick him up, just as a 4 year old should be. It can seem a little dirty but I would rather that than a sterile school that tries to make children act like assembly line workers.

I feel so fortunate to have found this school, because usually a school of this quality is twice the price. The teachers are excellent and have an abundance of patience and energy. They have Montessori style where 2 teachers each give a lesson to one or two children at a time. My daughter thrived on this individual attention and began reading at the age of four. I?ve seen English learners do well, because lessons are taught at each kid?s level. When the children are not having a lesson, they play all together with another teacher supervising. There is a group story time and outside play. Dance, drama, and tumbling classes are also offered at a low price. Children are allowed to express themselves freely in art. Parents pack lunches, but the school provides morning cereal and there is a drinking fountain in the play yard. Because younger kids are not separated from older kids, I recommend this school for kids three years and older.

PROS: Individual attention, freedom of expression, excellent teachers, affordable
CONS:
