We really enjoy hanging out at Buster's. For breakfast, we love the coffee and blueberry muffins. For a treat, we enjoy their ice cream (Fosselman's) or the homemade chocolate chip cookies.

The live jazz on Sunday evenings is free and great. Friendly staff and good food, especially the frozen yogurt. The tables upstairs are perfect for hours of writing and the AC is solid in the summer. Everything is so good that it pains me to list the one bad thing -- the business hours. They suck.

Open from 7 AM to 7 PM during the week is great if you're retired or unemployed, but the majority of people who work 9 to 6 are screwed. The place used to be open till 9 on weekends but for whatever reason was changed to 7. Buster, if you're reading this, pleeeeeease go back to 9. And how 'bout at least 8 PM during the wk? I want to be a regular customer but can't due to the crappy hours.

Although the coffee does leave something to be desired (and is served in styrafoam cups! gasp!), the atmosphere is funky and fun - a great place to enjoy a smoothie or a cone on a weekend afternoon. But be prepared - this is somewhat of a So. Pas institution and can be mobbed with customers.

Pros: Location, atmosphere

Cons: Crowds, Coffee

Busters is part of the Bajadena Landscape. I have images etched in my mind of times in the not so distant past spent with cone or cup in hand waving at the engineer. Or crossing over mission as the last of the July 4th Parade heads down toward Garfield Park and me I grab something smooth and cold so that I may follow. It was such a hot July 4th upon arriving at Garfield Park there were more kids waiting to be dunkees than dunkers. Or sitting on the cushion seat in the window brewing a pot of Darjeeling, as the drops blop blop on the awning, then down on to the sidewalk, on to the gutter, flowing, rolling, going down the Arroyo, down to the Sea.

PROS: Great staff, great prices, great selection, great location, need I say more.
CONS: Closes way too early weekdays/end. Have to go to the source.

This small coffe and ice cream place is my favorite destination when going for a walk. The coffee drinks, sandwiches and pastries are all first rate, and the ice cream and soda fountain is great when I want a treat. They serve Fosselman's ice cream, and make all sorts of fountain drinks. It's also a great place to take the kids for a treat at the weekly South Pasadena Farmers Market.

PROS: Yummy coffee, pastries and soda fountain
CONS: I wish they were open later!

This is a great little ice cream/coffee shop. The atmosphere is awesome. Well decorated, warm and friendly. You get a pretty mixed crowd in here, too which adds a lot of flavor. Their coffee, tea and desserts are really good quality. You can sit out side, downstairs in the front window or even upstairs. The staff is really friendly and just adds to the charm. Check it out!

You can drive here, walk here or take the Gold Line here. It is across the street from the Mission/South Pasadena Gold Line station. The food is good, the coffee drinks are great and presented well, the atmosphere is fun and eclectic. They have live music on the weekends here. I like to go upstairs to read or study or sit downstairs with friends and chat. I like the feel and vibe of this place and I can just hop on the Gold Line from my house and be here in ten minutes or less.

PROS: Food, fun and huge menu!
CONS: No comfy chairs to sit in

I actually got yelled at by a clerk when he pointed at a jar of cookies and when I retrieved one he YELLED at me. I guess I was supposed to know that he meant........"Ya thats the jar of cookies and you can look at them but I will get it for you and if you even think that it is self serve you will get yourself yelled at and totally embarrassed in front of the whole world."

If they don't want you to get them yourself then they should keep them off the counter and not gesture.

They have a lot to learn about customer service. Its supposed to be a quaint artsy store but its cramped, expensive and rude.

Great atmosphere in a small town type enviroment. The prices are better than starbuks, which add to the draw. Their ice cream is from Fosselman's, who make thier own flavors. The owners aren't the friendliest, though. Sitting upstairs is my favorite, especially when it rains. You can look down on the people and the train passing you by.

The Old fashioned milkshakes they make are great. Not open very late on weekdays which is a hassle.

Buster's is a coffee house and ice cream shop located by the Gold Line tracks. You can either sit outside or upstairs and drink coffee and watch the train go by. My favorite thing to eat there is the bread pudding, but you have to get there early before they sell out of it. They recently painted a mural on the side of the building that is really cool. It's a great place to hang out.

My favorite frozen treat ever is a thick Buster's malt, and the shop is that rare kind of place where you can sit back and enjoy your snack without hassle. Upstairs is perfect for gazing out the window at the growing street scene, talking with a friend, or just soaking up some serious quiet. Deliciousness.

A local favorite in South Pasadena, I came here for ice cream when I was a kid and now I go for their ice blended mocha's. If you don't want to overdose on the caffeine and you want to know that there is chocolate in a mocha, these babies are a hit!

This is a pleasant place to hang out and chat with friends over coffee or ice cream. The deserts are just okay, and I really can't speak for the coffee since I don't drink any, but the ambiance is good. It's on Mission so it's kind of neat watching the traffic go by this section of the street which looks like it's from another time.
