The contracter we had was very nice and knowledgeable. When the plumbers came it was in less than one week, they were very respectable to me and my home. They made sure to lay down those sheets all through the house as not to mess up the carpet and then they did a great job at cleaning up the mess and giving us advice in other area's. They got the job done in one day. Then when the drywall guy came as a nice gesture the plumbers had told him to paint the rooms that he had to patch the hole's for free. It was a great experience one of the best I've ever had!!

Hello Sue,
I first want to say that the Sales man John was wonderful, friendly and a real pleasure to do business with. It was almost like having a friend over rather than a sales rep.
The installers were quick, professional, nice, funny and did a perfect job. I believe my house was cleaner after they left than before they came. They do a perfect job cleaning up after themselves.
The inspectors came and were in and out and very professional as well.
The drywaller came out and was also great!! He did such a great job that our painters we have been using for over 6 years complimented their work.
I can not say enough great things about them as a whole. From my first call to set up an appointment to the very last contact. Everyone was so great and I would highly recommend them!!!
And all this great work is done for a great price. We had many estimates and you beat them all by a landslide.
Thanks.

Dear Sue,
I have an eighty five year old house that had very low water flow. The hot water lines were especially bad. I called Repipe Specialists and their rep met with me, inspected the house and explained their services. Just so happened that two of my neighbors were already signed up with Repipe so when the rep quoted me my total cost he threw in an additional 10% discount to clinch the deal so that the install crew could start on my house while finishing the neighbors. The installers from Hannah's Plumbing were very efficient and clean as could be expected. They were in and out in a day and a half. The Patchers came the next day, a Saturday, at 7:30am and by 11:00am had patched the 7 openings required to run the new copper pipe. The next Monday one of my showers would not shut off due to crud in the lines so I called Greg Hannah and he was there in two hours to change out the old shower valve(no charge) and flush the lines. I had a very good experience with Repipe Specialists and would not have a problem recommending them to anyone.

We asked three plumbers to put in bids, one never showed up, one that took two weeks to get back to us and the last one took 3 weeks for a verbal bid. Then we called the Repipe Specialists they gave us a bid on the spot which was thousands lower than their plumber counterparts, their representative was courteous, professional and knowledgeable, no questions were left unanswered. When it was time for the work to be done the specialists came in and completed the repipe and patching in less than two days with top notch workmanship, all the workers were friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend the repipe specialists to anyone who would like a great professional repipe job for a reasonable price.

My wife and I were quite pleased with the job that Re-Pipe Specialists did at our house. Our house is 100 years old and is listed on the historic homes registry in Alameda. One of my main concerns was that the historical integrity would not be compromised. The work was done without damaging any wainscoting or other architectural details. I was amazed that the cost of the job was so reasonable. The workers showed up on time and went right to work. They were very courteous, and very professional. The entire job was completed in less than 2 days. When the City of Alameda Plumbing Inspector checked the work he commented favorably on the quality of the re-piping job that was done on our house.
I highly recommend Re-Pipe Specialists.

Repipe Specialists provided us with a very good job. The sales representative was on time and was knowledgeable in the work that was to be done. His general manager happened to be in town and came with him. We had two estimates, and Repipe Specialists was the lowest. When the sales representative prepared the contract, we made sure that everything we wanted was included in his estimate. Both he and the general manager walked us through the work that was to be completed. We specifically asked that the holes made in the walls be opened neatly and cleanly and that everything be cleaned up afterwards, which they did. Additionally, we had a water leak in one of our bathrooms, and we asked that the lead worker determine exactly the cause of the leak, which he did. On the day the work was to be done, the workmen arrived at 9:00am, and they worked straight through the day, completing the job around 7:00pm. There were five to six workers to complete the repiping of the water service line with Pex and the entire house (single story, two-bath) with L copper pipe. They added an outside service cut-off, a water pressure valve, and two connections for a future front and back sprinkler system. As far as we can tell at this time, the work was done correctly and competently. On the following day, we reviewed the contract and checked again to see that everything had been completed. We found some items that needed further attention. We called the lead on the job, and he made arrangements with us to send two people to address those items to our satisfaction. We also tested our entire water system to determine if there were any possible leaks. We found none. The only thing we had to complete ourselves was refinishing the wall access cuts, which needed to have a final puttying, texturing, and painting; and closing up the old pipe holes under the sinks. We had a good crew, and we would recommend them based on our experience with them.

Dear Sue,
Thank you for the reminder. I have actually already referred you guys to two friends of mine who just bought new homes. I told them what a wonderful job you guys did. I was skeptical to even start this process, there were so many options and so many different price approximations. I actually chose you and two other companies to come in for the estimate. Your companies appointment was first and I am glad it was. John walked me through every single step and option. I was up front with him and told him that we had two more companies to look at. He took it upon himself to educate me in order to be aware of any "tricks" that might be pulled on me. Like the type of copper I should use and which options would be smarter regardless if I went with your company. John was very polite and came across as knowledgeable as well as very friendly. We actually talked a little bit about cell phones since he was interested in the iPhone. When all was said and done his quote with the 20% discount was lower than what I was expecting. I was happy to know that what we were planning on doing was going to be affordable. He also said that their team would be able to finish the Job in a day. A DAY! To re-pipe the whole house! I didn't believe it. So John went on his way and we went ahead and had the two other estimators come in. Well one was more expensive than the other. Another company did a bait and switch with a tank-less water heater. Ridiculous. Sure it's free, but it will cost $8000.00 to put it in...NO THANKS! So needless to say we went with your company and I am very happy with the results. The guys showed up on time, walked me through everything they were going to do and went to work. They started and 9 AM and finished at 5 PM. DONE!! Re-piped and water running. The walls still needed to be patched, but that was expected. They hauled my disgusting old pipes away and left shiny new copper in their place. WONDERFUL! The Inspector and patcher came the next day and he was done in no more than 2 hours. After that I painted and it was like never happened. Except my bank account was a little lower. ;) BUT totally reasonable!!. Thanks for the great work and I will definitely recommend you guys to anybody who asks about re-piping. The lifetime warranty doesn't hurt either. ;)
Regards

Repipe Specialist finished my copper piping my Dad had started. He had passed away and I needed help. Their estimate was a good price. There work was professional, organized, quick, and clean. The workers were pleasant and a joy to have in my home. JA Plumbing in San Jose is who Repipe Specialists sent out and we could not be happier.

In June of this year we contacted several companies to obtain bids to repipe our home. Not only did Repipe Specialists give us the best bid, we were most impressed with the salesperson who came to our home. He was very professional and showed us the pipe that would be used in our home if we decided on his company to do the job.
After my wife and I discussed the three bids, we decided on Repipe Specialist because of their professional business practices.
The workforce came on the day and time that they said they would begin the work. By the end of the day, the job had been completed. A section of lawn was removed in order to lay the pipes, and the lawn was replaced, and it was hardly noticeable where they had dug the trench. After several weeks since the job was done, the lawn almost looks as good as it did prior to the work. The next day after the new copper pipes were put in, the sheet rock work was done, and beyond on our expectations as far as quality of workmanship goes.
A few days later, we had to contact Repipe Specialists to have an adjustment made in one of the water values for our shower. The next morning one of plummers was at our home to correct the problem. My wife and I were most pleasantly surprised because all the work was done as promised and on time. So many times you hear of contractors who will not respond once the work is done--not so with Repipe Specialists.
I would recommend Repipe to my closest friends because of their great service and their reasonable price to do the job.

Thanks to Steve Friend of Repipe Specialists, Inc.and JR of JA Plumbing (RS Hayward Partner) for a job well done!! The plumbing crew (five guys) was fast but conscientious and tidy. Joints were well aligned and tight. Intrusions into drywall were neatly cut, not hammered through. Materials were as promised; "L" guage copper of appropriate diameter installed from the street main throughout the house. Ball valves used every where (vs cheaper gate valves). Interior burrs from the cuts were carefully reamed and end surfaces to joints well prepared. Foam jacket insulation was used on the hot circuit and even some ot the 1" cold circuit to reduce noise and heat loss. The Benicia City building inspector was very impressed by the quality of the materials and workmanship and didn't have a single punch list point. Repipe even corrected a pre-existing error in the layout at the main valve for our irrigation system and didn't charge extra for the time or the valve. We declined the free tankless water heater because of the installation issues and they substituted a new AO Smith Energy star unit to replace a heater that was ready to go on the Antiques Roadshow. The drywall team did a great job over two days, using a combination of furring and existing studs and plates to ensure a solid perimeter. Taping was high quality. Although the contract specifically excluded texturing, they did it anyway and blended the new texturing in very well with the old. All I had to do was the touch-up paint. The entire process took a total of three days. Astonishing!!The price was less than that of the local specialists (plumbing only-we'd have had to contract drywall separately), even with the drywall work and the water heater. Slab leaks are an endemic problem in the Southampton section of Benicia and neighbors who'd had work done spoke of quotes thousands of dollars higher and project times in terms of weeks, not days. With a warranty of 50 years on the materials and workmanship, we feel pretty secure.I was a bit skeptical at first after reading the scathing reviews about the Repipe Spec affiliate out of San Jose. Apparently this affiliate started out strong, went down the toilet for whatever reason and were summarily terminated by RS. If I had seen a truck with Pipetech or Plumbers on Call signage on the side, I would have turned them away. As it was, I was on hand throughout the job to make sure that everything was done to my satisfaction. It was.Anyway, great job at a great price with courteous service.

I thought I would drop you a letter of appreciation for a job well done. I am a contractor of 22 years and have never seen a repipe job go so fast and as smoothly as mine did. The plumbers are very well trained and the helpers all knew what to do and where to do it. So again let me say thank you for a great job.
Hope to send you more happy customers.

Their sales pitch was extremely smooth, but the actual work was hurried and shoddy. The dry wall guys did an especially poor job. They promised to patch the holes in the walls so it would completely blend in and we wouldn't be able to tell there was any work done. Every day when I brush my teeth, I stare at the bad patch job on the bathroom wall and my blood pressure rises. They pulled out lots of insulation from the walls when they opened up the holes, when I asked if they were going to replace the insulation they looked at me as if I was crazy. Now when someone takes a shower it sounds like a thunderstorm in the adjacent room. After they installed the new water heater, the worker asked me, "So how do you turn this thing on?" They did not attach our water heater properly. Even the manager came out to attempt to "fix" it. It did not pass inspection twice. We finally had to hire a heating and cooling professional (at additional expense) who just laughed when he saw the work they had done. After they left I found my sink disposal didn't work, and my dishwasher came on when I flipped the switch for the sink disposal. When I called to complain, the dispatcher said maybe it was better that the dishwasher works on a switch. Thankfully I solved that problem on my own after thinking about it for 5 seconds.
That's only the cosmetics, the things I can see. It leaves me wondering how in the world they could have done a good job with the piping. Thank god for the lifetime warranty. I plan on calling them on it.

My Repipe Disaster was at the hands of the San Jose based operation in northern California, specifically its affiliate Plumbers on Call / Pipetechs, reached by calling the 1-800 REPIPING phone number from this area.
The work and damage were done Jan. 30, 2008. Despite their advertising claims of "Clean & Professional" they were anything but.
Although they arrived with a trailer filled with tools and plumbing parts the crew leader had to leave the job for an hour or so to go buy pipe! They needed to borrow my ladder (OK with me) helped themselves to bottled water from my garage refrigerator, and scavenged lumber from my storage area to use as mounting blocks for the pipe run through my garage (OK too - but they should have asked).
They did about $1,200 in damage - a hole in my flooring (dropped pipe?) and shorted-out wiring (melted with a soldering torch). It took a month and a half and a threat to "go to court" to get reimbursed.
They promised dust, which I expected and got plenty of. Solder and soldering paste were spattered all over flooring and woodwork, too.
Five different connections were found leaking and two valves were clogged with debris after they left.
They installed Chinese-made valves and pressure regulator instead of US-made parts they advertised.
When it came time to patch the 27 holes in my walls and ceilings, the crew showed up a day late, looked at the mess, turned around and left. Next day I got a call advising all the wall patchers had quit. I was on my own for getting the holes patched.
Doing the wall patch work myself, I found evidence of carelessness and sloppy work too extensive to detail here with a 5000 character limit.
Office staff habitually fails to return phone calls. Of at least 7 calls requested or promised, I've received 2.
To be fair: Price of the wall patch work has been refunded. Pipe itself was in fact US-made type "L" as advertised, and the water heater strap also matched the ads.
If someone from the parent company steps up to make it right, I'll post a follow-up, but my recommendation for now is "Avoid at all costs."
It's the worst company I have ever dealt with in my 30+ years of owning and maintaining homes.

The first crew they sent out walked off job because they had never seen a tankless water heater. Months later, after the price of copper had skyrocketed, they returned and upped their price. They claimed they could self inspect but not true. La Habra City Inspector failed the job because they did not ground the house electrical to copper line and did not patch walls due to incomplete job. The crew was rude and mouthy and rushed to complete instead of doing job correctly. They created a leak in kitchen by pounding open walls with sledge hammers and claimed innocence. I had to pay a different plumber $350 to fix their damage. They left after causing leak in drain line under kitchen sink. The line to ice machine was paid for but not installed. They left without hooking up the hot water heater as agreed upon in contract. I was without hot water for days until a different contractor could complete the job. This resulted in additional money out of pocket. And the walls were not patched. This was definitely the Worst experience ever. If you value your sanity and your home, do not consider Repipe Specialists. Horrible Experience!!!!!! Terrible workmanship!!! Wretched service!!! Hey, but the sales pitch was great!

Do not use! The crew ripped out walls and tiles from the showers leaving huge holes in spite of promises not to do so. Wouldn't return my phone calls.
PROS:
CONS: destroyed my walls, expensive to repair their mistakes

Jeff Butler and his crew repiped my house in one day. It was a major opperation but his crew of 10 worked like a well oiled machine. Three years later we are still very happy. They were honest to a fault. We had received a qoute for the whole house but once they began the procedure they noticed that a pipes had been recently replaced so they showed us (we would have never of noticed) and gave us a discount on the final bill.
PROS: Quick, Clean, procured the appropriate permits! Wonderful experience
CONS: Not the cheapest quote we recieved but they were honest and we felt like we got a good value for our $.

The worst service provider ever to enter my home, DO NOT USE! On a copper re-pipe job absolutely nothing was done as promised. Fortunately they partially rectified most mistakes but should have done it right in the first place. Workers were obsessed with speed not quality. Serves me right for following up on one of those marketing cards that arrived in the mail (should have used Insider Pages).
