This restaurant is a small place located in Boyle Heights, across the street from the more famous El Tepeyac. However, if you want homestyle Mexican food, obviously prepared for local residents in mind, this is the place. I recommend visiting in the late morning for a delicious breakfast. I particularly recommend the machaca, with plenty of tomatoes, and rice/beans. Line begins to form outside around lunch time. It is cozy inside, but the food is well worth the somewhat tight quarters. Prices arevery reasonable. Several steps above the standard "El Torito" in food quality for sure!
