One of San Francisco's most romantic restaurants, the Magic Flute, has a new and exciting menu reflecting California-Italian Cuisine. Located in fashionable Presidio Heights, the restaurant with sponge-painted walls and hardwood floors is reminiscent of a family-run trattoria found in a small Tuscan village. Sunlight streams in through large picture windows in the front dining room, and after dark, Florentine wrought-iron chandeliers, imported from Europe, infuse the room with soft light. The equally beautiful rear dining room looks onto a lovely, flower-filled patio with white Italian marble tables and large Italian market umbrellas that make the heated patio the ideal spot for al fresco dining. Phil LaCavera sees to it that service is personal and attentive. The staff also takes great pride in making each party and wedding a memorable occasion.

The wait staff is friendly but service is a little slow. The inside of the restaurant is fairly small, but there is a nice outside seating area in the back. Very nice on a warm San Francisco day. This is one of our standbys in the Laurel Village area. It's one of the few places that has an outdoor patio from which to enjoy those rare sunny days in SF. Enjoyed all the food we've had, but have to say that sometimes the service can be slow. The owner/manager (I think he holds both roles) is very nice and welcoming. It's located in the heart of San Francisco's Pacific Heights neighborhood and has awesome food. There's a little patio area where you can have private parties or an indoor dining area which can hold about 30 people. I recommend the Quiche - I have never tasted a better one and it's the best! We decided to stop for dinner and it felt magic since right away. Great charming ambiance, ROMANTIC, beautiful garden, great service, well distanced table and quite. Our waitress was lovely and so the food she brought. We ordered the prosciutto wrapped figs , spinach salad,salmon with lemon reduction and cappers, tagliolini and a great chocolate cake. Really in expansive. Their back patio creates a nice atmosphere in the city. Their bunch food is excellent. They make you feel like a guest in someone's home. You can't go wrong here! The lunch menu a great variety of selections, the food was great (large portions and very homestyle!). Best of all we got to listen to the owner crack jokes, and it seemed like he knew everyone who walked through the door. I will definately visit again, and this time opt fot the patio tables!
