I decided to take a friend to Yasemeen's because i had seen their sign about their buffet. We arrived a little early, but we were greeted cordially and invited to come in and sit down. The waiter quickly brought us some cool water with a slice of lime. He explained that their new name was "MAHARAJA". In just a couple of minutes they invited us to enjoy the buffet. And enjoy it we did. The salad was fresh and crisp. The rice was moist and deliciously aromatic. They had two curry dishes which were excellent. The tandoori was smokey and succulent. The spinach was very tasty as were the lentils and veggies. I barely had room for desert, but it was excellent. As you can see by the 5 star rating, I thoroughly enjoyed the experience. I never felt rushed or in any way uncomfortable. But the waiter immediately responded when we were ready to leave and brought our receipt in a matter of seconds.Oh, I almost forgot to mention try the "garlic" nan.I have only been this one time, but I intend to take my family and other friends there soon.

I've eaten plenty of Indian and non-Indian food. But by far this was the worst food my family has ever eaten. The food items and the bread were not cooked properly, some of it was half cooked. To top it off, the service was non-existent. The buffet station was out of serving plates, it took a long time for the server to replenish the food items, and when they did the food did not come anywhere close to being Indian food. We had to remind the server to replenish food, bring serving plates, etc.

I know most reviews on this board rave about this place, however, our experience was in the last couple of weeks - Dec 2007.

I LOVE INDIAN FOOD!!!okay with that said after moving from L.A. three years ago I was instantly on the search for my new fav Indian spot.(Bollywood in studio city is my #1)--so I tried Taj and it wasn't bad but not great, then I hit up Yasmeens.WOW AWESOME! I dream about the Matar paneer and everything else is always on point. They have a great buffet for lunch and I think dinner too.I usually call and pick up but the handful of times I've dined in has always been great. From service, taste, music it's wonderful.(my mouth is watering as I type)-So after searching and sampling ALL of the Indian restaurant's in Ventura and Santa Barbara my expert opinion is that Yasmeen's is clearly the best Indian food around. It looks a little shabby from the outside but the food's gunna knock your socks off! I LOVE YASMEEN'S!!!!

I have lived in Ventura all my life, and driven by Yasmin's countless times. I finally got to try it the other night and it was well worth the effort. I got a Vegitarian sampler platter. It was nice because I know that I like certian Indian foods, but I did not know the names or what to order. The sampler came with an apetizer, yummy samosas, and the dinner had five or six little dishes and a bowl of rice. Most of the dishes looked like a dahl, and my favorite was the lentel dish. Really fun, especially for those who are unfamiliar with international cuisine.

I just popped over to Yasmeen's last week for the first time ever. Since my visit I've been kicking myself for not trying the food sooner. I have not enjoyed a meal out as much as I did at Yasmeen's in a really long time. Everything was spiced perfectly and was absolutely awesome.

Highly recommended to anyone that likes spicy food.

Don't let the dark parking lot fool you! The place is very cool inside.
I found the food to be a bit bland. I ordered the vegetarian dinner -- needed salt, but it had a great variety of dishes. Also the fried items (samosas, pakoras) were overdone. The service was attentive and friendly. A family with young children dined next to me, and the kids raved about the lamb! Who knew!
Tons of space, fountain in the front room, eye candy on every wall. It has the retro feel of an old steak joint.
