welcome Experience the bold and deliberate flavors of the Asian-Fusion cuisine of Eos Restaurant and Wine Salon created by Founding Chef Arnold Eric Wong prepared by Executive Chef Daniel Guerrini. We are located in charming Cole Valley just adjacent to San Francisco's famous Haight-Ashbury district. Our adjoining wine salon is enjoyed as a gathering space for a drink before dinner in the main restaurant, or for having a full dining experience. We recommend sharing our menu dishes "family-style" with several selections per person. Our wine list is carefully chosen to pair with the cuisine, and a large portion of our wines are available by the taste, glass or flight. In addition, we carry a selection of creative sake cocktails to match the cuisine, as well as beers on tap and by the bottle. Not to be missed are the famous dessert platters and cheese plates.

Found this place to be welcoming with a nice mix of customers. We tried several starters and were delighted with all of them. Everyone in our group devoured their entrees and none of us could handle ordering a dessert but the selection looked nice. Parking could be a challenge

Wonderful food in a really beautiful restaurant. While you should try as many options as your table can support, also checkout their wine list which is geared to go perfectly with their menu choices - sip a glass of wine, then try another. My pesonal favorites include tuna mango rolls, mushroom risotto, and their special cheese fondue. Leave room for the amazing lava dessert-truly sinful. Enjoy!

This place is awesome. I went there for a birthday party, and so we got to try almost everything on the menu. The scallops still stand out in mind, like butter. It was reasonably priced fr what it is too. A very warm setting as well. If you are into wine I imagine it is all the better.

BEST TUNA EVER!
by valerielikesgoodfood
Is it just me or is it impossible to find good tuna lately in SF? Anyways where was I...this place has the best tuna ever! Mango rolls are to die for; they are served crispy and hot with yummy FRESH tuna inside! The tuna tower has ruby red color to it and makes me feel like singing! It all comes at a price, but you'll forget about the check soon and only the melt in your mouth tuna will remain! Come here on a date w/ someone you never wanna see again and ruthlessly stuff your face with the food!
Pros: TUUUUUNNNAAA, cute wait staff, industrial decor
Cons: noisey, hard to find parking

Yummy wine!
by dancingyel
My boyfriend and I went there on a Tuesday night, so it wasn't very crowded, and we loved it! The wine selection was quite large and reasonably priced, and the dessert (Vietnamese coffee profiteroles) and the cheese (the blue) we ordered were both great. The service was very friendly, if a little absent-minded. They forgot our dessert wine, but when they did remember, they apologized profusely and didn't charge us for it. All in all, a very pleasant experience.

Cole Valley Gem!
by osunikki
I just recently celebrated my 30th birthday at EOS. Not only did the GM email me several times and accept my many changes, but she was polite, thorough and everything went smooth from the planning stages to the execution. I was shocked at the personal attention I received-in a good way. Not only was the food amazing (the flavors were intense, all so different and mind blowing) but the service was superb. Our servers were so friendly, but not cheesy idiots. They were present, but not hovering. We had over 20 people at the table (upstairs) and everyone was pleased with their experience. We had a prixe fixe menu in place at a great price w/ an array of the chef's dishes. Everyone got to try a bit of everything which I think ensured happiness in my party. The GM had printed up personalized invitations for me, which was so great. The planning of the menu, printing of the menu and reservation of the upstairs table cost me NOTHING. I couldn't believe it. The meal was $35 per person not including gratuity or alcohol. Unbelievable. I will be back. My personal faves: The shitaake dumplings and scallops. Yummy. If you aren't fortunate to live in walking distance like I do, be sure to take the Muni. N drops off right in front of the restaurant at Carl and Cole. Happy Eating!
Pros: Food and Service
Cons: Parking

All I'm going to say is that I love eating here. Try to sit up stairs less traffic. And hey, if you're early stop by the wine bar next door!
Pros: AMAZING FOOD

Rude Staff and not knowledgable on wines
by kellybosco
This was my third time at EOS and my experience has been consistent:
-Rude staff
-Staff does not know the wines-not a good thing for a wine bar
-I reserved a table, called the same day to confirm and still had to wait to be seated
-Poor wine list- cheap foreign wines and very poor selection of Californian wines
-Food and ambience is still good but with so many wonderful restaurants in the city I will not be rushing to EOS again and will certainly not recommend it.
My friend had a simliar experience a week ago.
Bottom line: consistently bad service
Pros: Food and ambience
Cons: service and poor wine list

Great Spot!!
by athenababy24
My girlfriend and I came here and I thought everything was just perfect!! The food and wine were absolutely delicious (especially the tuna tartare) and service was decent as well. Overall, a wonderful dining experience and I will definitely return here again!!
Pros: Great food, wine, service
Cons: Location, parking

Overrated Asian fusion
by cw2006
We made reservations and got a table at the worse location, nearest the entrance where it was cold. Fortunately, they also own a wine bar next door with the same menu, which we ended up getting a table relatively quickly. The service was fine but the food was terrible. Thai soup, special for the night, was awful. The other dishes (short ribs, beef filet) were mediocre and very small portions. The mussels were the only that we liked. Wine selection was decent.
Pros: Friendly service, Parking is ok, Wine bar cool concept
Cons: Food is terrible, Reservations sucked, Pricey

Overall-very positive experience
by nips
Had a nice time! The space looks like an updated victorian building, you can tell from the beams along the ceiling and the bathrooms, but the ambience was still very pleasant. Somewhat crowded for a Thurs nite and lots of late nite diners/couples on double dates sipping flights of wine and nibbling desserts (wasn't crazy about dessert). Overall, we enjoyed ourselves and gorged:2 apps, 2 entrees, 2 desserts, 1 flight wine and 3 glasses wine for $180 (includes tax/tip). Yummi-pureed soup, mushroom dumplings, lamb, ahi tuna tower... not so crazy about the duck, curry squash and desserts (panna cotta and chocolate cake were average). Good selection of local and international wines. So I definitely recommend checking it out if you've never been before, although I don't think I'll be going back a 2nd time (too far from where I live, and there's so many other places in SF to try!!)
Pros: ambience, wine, lamb
Cons: service kinda slow, Sonoma Shiraz, bad!

Not bad, but not fabulous
by ehaude
I have to say that I was a little disappointed. The food was definitely very good, but the seating was very crowded and the service was average. Outside the food, the experience just wasn't that great. I travelled across town to go, and it wasn't really worth the trip. If I lived in the neighborhood, it would be a different story.
Pros: food, wine
Cons: crowded, parking

Wonderful experience
by smzer
I went to Eos recently and had a wonderful time! I had a small party that became a large party and the hostess was more than willing to accomodate us. We didn't feel pressure to eat quickly and did not have to wait very long for our table. The server was excellent, he helped us pick the right amount of food for us, since they have small plates, and the wine to go with it. It was an overall fantastic experience and I would recommend it to everyone! The food was amazing as well as the dessert...definitely save room for dessert! The pumpkin creme brulee was to die for! As well as the bananamisu and the chocolate cake! No hard alcohol, but wonderful wines to pair with the food.
Pros: Service, Food, Atmosphere
Cons: Parking, Noisy

EOS is one of my all time favorite restaurant in the city. All the dishes are on point, I especially recommend the shitake mushroom dumpings and the grilled chorizo stuff calamari, but you can't go wrong with any of the dishes on the menu. And the dessert it's heavenly-I highly recommend the bananamisu- the presentation is something else. They also have great deals on wine- the bottle and flights.
Pros: FOOD , AMBIENCE, SERVICE

RUDE STAFF!! Wine bar recommended
by redhandle
Due to circumstance we were a bit late for our reservation. After knowing the business for so long, I know it's a pain when this happens and tables cannot be held.
The hostess did not have to be so RUDE about it.
We ended up walking around to the wine bar where we were greated, offered a table and had a lovely meal with exceptional service. The lemongrass risotto, the hangar steak and the noodle cake plates were the favorites but nothing beats the dessert. We had the creme brulee, the jasmine chocolate cake and the cardamon chocolate mousse cake and all three were so good we did everything but lick the plate.
Pros: Food, Resonable Wine Prices
Cons: Rude Waitstaff

Eos what a discovery !!
by zabss
We loved everything we had and we had everything ! we were a group of 8 people so we basically tried a lot of apetizer and main courses. The shintake mushroom dumpling were amazing. The curry potato cake with a pink bernese sauce unbelivable ! Wonderful beef filet and save room for the delicious desserts. We had the bananamisu',grat presentation, lovely flavor as well as the authentic panna cotta. If you love chocolate don't miss their mousse. We love he cozy wine bar and their "flights".
Great discovery, my first choice from nowon ! Service need a little improvement. Waitress are somhow distracted and forget to get orders from everybody or they just walk away while you are still ordering...you can easly forget the ok service with their great food.
Pros: wine list, grat quality food, desserts
Cons: no good for kids

Great time!
by slimhost
I can't believe the review I just read about EOS! I had an amazing time there this past weekend. I thought the food was wonderful and the service was great! We got a ton of attention, our water glasses were never empty and the servers were outgoing and positive. When we had questions about the wine, I found the server quite knowledgeable and ready to help. They were also quite eager to accommadate a diner with food allergies. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone!
Pros: Food, Wine, Service
Cons: Noisy

My all-time FAVORITE!
by cookiebear
There has not been one time I've been here that the food, the wine and service is not absolutely exceptional. This place is truly amazing - better than any five star restaurant and prices so reasonable. I was just there last night with some friends and the menu had recently changed... all I can say is WOW! The serrano ham, asparagus, and manchego rolls are to die for. The fresh water prawns with corn succotash is so amazing, you'll want to write home. Every dish I've ever ordered here gets a sucrumptous "MMMMMMMMM" with a 45 degree angle stare. I go out to eat almost every night and have been to every notable restaurant in the city - I can honestly say this is the best restaurant in SF.
Pros: wine list, variety of food, inexpensive

Surprisingly Bad
by sashimimoomoo
Service: Horrendous. Inattentive, rude, uninterested wait staff.
Food: Uninspired, thrown together concoctions with little attention to detail. Over use of filler ingredients, such as leafy greens and kim-chee.
Our beef dish had good flavor, but the main ingredient was tough, undercooked eggplant.
Summary: We had high expectations and were disappointed in the overall experience. Don't waste your evening at EOS.
Pros: none
Cons: service, food, wine

Did we just hit it on a bad night?
by amac
We expected something much better. For starters, as a restaurant that advertises itself as a wine bar/restaurant, the wine list was the first disappointment. There were fewer wines by the glass that we had hoped, LIMITED flights, and no information on the wines. When we asked our server for recommendations, her knowledge was really limited. In addition, there was no information on wine/food pairings. We ended up ordering 6 plates -- the signature Mushroom Dumplings was really the ONLY one we thought stood out. Chicken Clay Pot - bland. Stuffed Calamari -- rubbery. Long Beans -- good, but not anything unique to them. Risotto - o.k. Ahi Tuna Rolls With Mango - wasabi overpowered the mango which was so bland. We had the signature Bananamisu for dessert which was excellent, but the Chocolate Creme Brulee was too hard on top. Certainly better places around the city for food AND wine!

Wow!!
by jnusser
The mushroom dumplings and the hangar steak were out of this world. Also the Ahi Tuna Mango Rolls with the ginger mustard dipping sauce were soo tasty.... If you haven't been yet, this is a must stop. Good wine, amazing food, beautiful space and artwork... Did I mention how amazing the food was, unbelievable.
Wow!
Pros: Amazing Food!!, Ambiance, Service
Cons: , Parking, Parking

RUDE, RUDE, RUDE
by shawnleslie
Never have I experienced such rude service before. I was excited to take a friend visiting from France to see that wine bars in this city can hang with those in her native country. Well, excitement soon turned to disappointment when the waitress rudely yelled that we could not sit at the small bar-style table unless we ordered food. Nevermind that we were sitting on the "wine bar" side of the restaurant rather than on the side where people were having dinner. Furthermore, it was a Wednesday night at 10:00, hardly prime dinner time, and there was no one waiting for a table. I had to wonder if she did the math: several glasses of wine would come to a total of nearly $50 while one appetizer would come in at just under $10. Needless to say, we were appalled by her extremely rude behavior and will never be back.
Pros: good wine selection, nice enough ambiance

EOS is the perfect destination
by two2handed
We heard raves about EOS repeatedly from our friends back in Florida who have family here in SF so we had to visit. What a gorgeous place! The food was outstanding: Salmon Tuna Poke Rolls, Mushroom Dumplings, Hangar Steak - all to die for. So much care and talent goes into this beautiful and delicious food. Our server paired wines perfectly with the food and steered us towards the most amazing dessert platter we've ever seen...We'll be back...:)
Pros: FOOD, Wine, Service
Cons: , the whiner next to us

EOS rocks!
by deanthomas
EOS has become the ultimate neighborhood restaurant: great food (share plates) at reasonable prices and great staff to hang with. The wine list is now going to be a collaboration with the brilliant wine people at Bacar so that will be terrific. We love the duck, the classic tuna tower, the vegetable dishes, mushroom dumplings (addictive) and the brilliant desserts. We recently watched the manager and wine bar staff gracefully deal with three horrible marin ladies who decided that paying for their champagne was asking too much. A classy place for casual dining and special dates...
Pros: Food, service, wine, staff all around

A defining fusion experience
by lost_sage
I have been going to EOS for 6 years, and I've never had a bad -- correction, less-then-stellar -- meal there! Where do I begin? The first place that hooked me on rare ahi tuna. Best mushroom dumplings ever invented. Poke rolls to die for. Banana-misu an incredible delicacy that has to be seen and tasted.
Arnold and Mary have a very special place in EOS. I have to disagree entirely with _every_ bad review of the food on this page. I would stake my culinary credibility on EOS cuisine. 'Nuff said.
Pros: Presentation, Incredible desserts, Solid wine list
Cons: Tricky parking, Really noisy

A rejuvanated EOS!
by sffoodee
Eos used to be the place we went for big events; now we go there once a week or so...the small plate menu works fabulously forcing us to try new things while fighting the urge to keep ordering our favs (salmon-tuna poke rolls, the perfect salmon filet, mushroom dumplings to die for)...the hangar steak with fingerling potatoes and onion rings made me one happy diner and always having veggies and salads to choose from keeps us happy. The wine flights are an outstanding choice as I always find myself trying wines I wouldn't normally choose...Eos's deserts have always rocked the house and they still do with style, flair, and great flavors and presentation....this is THE neighborhood place to go.
Pros: Great food, reasonable prices, wines by the glass
Cons: parking, parking, parking

Good Food Cool Place
by ahiatus
We went to EOS for dinner. The Muni drops you off right in front of the restaurant, as someone whos visiting the city, this makes it even a better place to go to. The place is small, but charming. Our server was on it and the menu is great. The desserts are awesome.

be careful
by edholden
I went into Eos on Friday night and couldn't believe I didn't have to wait for my table. It was my first visit since the menu changed to "small plates". That sounded great cause that means cheaper but be careful cause the food is amazing so we kept ordering more and more and ended up spending as much as we would anywhere. I loved the duck breast--smokey and all the seafood dishes we tried rocked.
The service was amazing she actually seemed to care if we had a good time. Eos seems to be one of the only places in the city were the staff really knows about the wine list.
Pros: small plates food, educated staff
Cons: parking

The epitomy of Fusion food.
by crisrobin72
I've been to Eos many times, and have not been disappointed yet. It is my favorite Fusion restaurant in the city. The wine list is great (LOVE the wine bar next door), and the food is excellent. Service has always been great, especially the bartenders in the wine bar. I especially enjoy the "wine flights" that Eos have, and was fortunate enough to eat there one time when they had a flight of very good white Burgundies. Although it is somewhat pricey, the food is well worth it, as there are many restaurants in the city whose food do not justify the high prices.
Pros: Food and service, Wine bar and list
Cons: Difficult parking

Excellent
by rodman
The food and wine were excellent. The guys working in the bar provided great service. We sat in the wine bar and it was great that we didn't have to have reservations nor did we wait that long. Great job everyone
Pros: atmosphere, wine selection, walk-ins only

Love the Wine Bar
by kallista
The wine bar adjacent to the restaurant is a terrific, attractive place to meet friends for a good bottle of wine and delicious desserts. The wine list is lengthly, and has some great selections even at the moderate end. The flights are a good option, too, if you don't want an entire bottle! I highly recommend coming here.
Pros: good music
Cons: difficult to park

The best hamburger I've had!
by frogerfriend
Aside from the creative, well constructed menu, with some amazingly delicious (and visually stimulating) dishes that beautifully blend cooking styles from both ends of the globe, EOS does have the best hamburger I have ever had. The meat is all natural with a choice of two tastey cheeses served on a homemade bun. Just great flavor. And I cann't stop with that. They also serve the best fries..always crisp and golden. The wine bar is a great spot for a relaxing night with an excellent glass of wine and the most delicious burger and fries you'll have in San Francisco.
Pros: beautiful wine bar, food
Cons: parking...takes a few

Presentation is tops...
by cyberdoggie
First word of advice - eat at the wine bar... The restaurant lacks in atmosphere what they add in character to the stylishly presented dishes. The winebar serves the same food in a much more relaxed atmosphere. The food is expensive, true, but it's top flight with an intreesting array of flavors. From the first course to the last, you can be assured it will be a delight. I loved the lamb, tuna tower, and even the ceasar was among the best in the city. The tea brulee served in an exotic ceramic dish was the final topper to a great meal. A good place to celebrate something!
Pros: Presentation, Fusion Cuisine
Cons: Parking, Noise, Pricing

Fabulous
by nyctxn
One of the best meals I've had since I've lived in SF. The menu is well thought-out w/ very flavorful yet unpretentious dishes. The wine list is pretty good, but not many selections under $50. Do not skip the Bananamisu. It was probably the best dessert I've ever had in a restaurant.

RIDICULOUS
by daisy14
This place is so overpriced and pretentious. And to top it off, the food is completely not worth what you are paying for. If you want to get ripped off, then come here.
Cons: Bland Food, Overpriced

Way Overrated
by bhattwoman
I had looked forward to going to EOS for some time...boy, was I disappointed. Inattentive wait staff who didn't know zip about the wines he was recommending, overpriced run-of-the mill dishes, loud atmosphere...certainly not a bad experience but nothing to write home about. Don't go, your pockets will be considerably lighter but you'll leave dissatisfied.

I went for my birthday and started at the wine bar for appetizers and a bottle of choice vino. We spent one hour at the bar and then headed over to our table. The service and food were perfect! You can't go wrong... try it out, trust me!

Cons: small

Wine & good food
by rawone
the only romantic wine bar in a neighborhood is EOS. Great wine list & great food to go with the wine. All bars have alcohol, but then you have to go somewhere else to eat because the food is sooooo bad. EOS has a great wine bar & great food, why travel to two places when you are out on a date?
Pros: good food, wine selection, service
Cons: parking

Okay if in CAD
by andrey
Overall, thought the place was okay. Very over-priced though. The food was good, but not exceptional. Service was okay, but rushed. Wine was incredibly over-priced. Over $10 for wine which can be bought by the bottle for maybe twice that. Will never go back. If the prices were cut by a third or half, then it would be a decent place. Otherwise, save your money for a real dining experience.

I went to Eos recently and the food was very good and the sevice was fair to poor. The wine list was very very pricey - they need to bring the prices down a notch. I would go again because of the food but probably bring my own wine.
