My battery died on me a few months ago while I was driving down garnet right near the kragen so originally I thought I had gotten pretty lucky. Instead when I went in to buy a battery the person behind the counter was little to no help at all. First I had to stand there for about 5 min. before getting helped and then when someone finally did come they barely new what they were doing. After way overcharging me for a battery I still was left putting in my car which I needed tools for when I asked if they could help they said no which is bogus because my friend who used to work helped people all the time with that stuff. So in the end I still had to get it towed to a garage down the street and they told me that I could have bought the battery way cheaper from them. DO NOT GO HERE.

First let me say that I actually worked at this same store on Garnet about five or six years ago. I was an assistant manager for two years and was subjected to the majority of PBs finest drunks and A-holes! I switched jobs and moved away from this city because the majority of the people here are spoiled rich college kids who cant appreciate anything because their parents still pay for everything.

Needless to say most of them have not ever really had to work, and they also expect customer service people to do EVERYTHING for them. At the time I was getting paid about $10.00 an hour to write schedules, open and close the store, (which includes doing numerous reports at the end of the night that your supposed to be able to finish in less than an hour after counting seven registers and figuring out any discrepancies), access to alarm codes and safe codes, (having the alarm code sucks because drunks in PB like to bang on the glass outside the store and trigger the impact sensor alarms, then you get called at 3am to go check out the store).

These kids they hire are typically straight out of high school like I was and get trained by the company. Most have no automotive background at all. The company told employees to not install ANYTHING because of liability risk. Also remember that you are purchasing auto parts from a store. You are not purchasing installation on the parts. Furthermore, do you want a 19yo with little to no experience to install an electrical component for you in your vehicle? What happens when he messes it up and your car catches fire? Who is responsible? Ill tell you who, its the underpaid employee who gets fired because of company policy.

I REFUSED as a manager to install ANYTHING because of fear of losing my job. I also wanted to give the finger to all the pathetic morons who expected me to install windshield wiper blades for them. The customers never wanted to learn how to do it so THEY could do it next time, they just expected us to do it like it was included in the price or something. Do you know how much mechanics make an hour? Right now its around $100.00 an hour depending on where you go, I made $10.00 an hour. If you cant afford to drive a vehicle then dont own one. If you think that the chore of putting on wiper blades or installing a battery is so easy, (which it is) then YOU do it for eight hours on a rainy day A-Hole!

I personally dont shop at Kragen because I know all of these things. I also believe that all the shady tree mechanics who go there regularly are even more disrespectful than the drunk kids who com in everyday. They dont realize that KRAGEN is responsible for who they hire. Dont take it out on the kid behind the counter! Go somewhere else if you want more experience and hate the store so much. We would have the same retards complain all the time but they would still shop there every day.
I just had to get that off my shoulders
