This place doesn't have the best food or service. I went to go see a friend of mine play all the way upstairs but we got there kind of early and got something to eat. The food took forever and when we got it, it wasn't that good. My friend was very good when he performed so that was worth it.
We were seated right away and the place was half full. It took 20 minutes to have our order taken. It took another HOUR & HALF to get just our cheese sticks. When we brought this up to the manager he rudely told us that they were busy and to go sit down. Two other couples that came in after us ordered, ate, and paid before we even got a refill on our drinks. It was overpriced and the food was not that good. Our waitress was rude when she even came to our table. Not worth the hassle.
The Rainbow is a must-see at least ONCE for anyone living in LA or in the city for a visit. Great rock history as any music fan will know & surprisingly enough, the food is fantastic there. They have one of the best Chinese chicken salads I've ever had & the fried mozarella cubes are everyone's favorite. Can get a little crowded & hard to get a drink on the weekends but you will always have a good time!
PROS: no lines to get in, GREAT food, fun people-watching
CONS:
The world famous Rainbow Bar & Grill, located in the heart of the Sunset Strip has played host to some of the most famous names in music. The food is stellar and very reasonable, the drinks are ...strong. The Pizza at The Rainbow is some of the best in L.A.
Mario, Michael or Tony wiil greet you at the entrance and you know you are in for a wild night by the din from the patio dining area that was added several years ago to accomodate the large smoking contingent. There is also a large wood and red leather dining area inside and small bar downstairs. Upstairs is the main bar, dance floor and Crow's nest where you can now hear live music.
If you are looking for a good time plus good food and drinks the Rainbow should be your 1st choice.
PROS: Great food, fun, drinks and party ambience
CONS: Service is so-so at best
