Dr Burns came with high recommendations from an out of state podiatrist friend. Yes, he is probably not known for a great bedside manner but he is the only one I will ever trust with my feet again. He is honest and upfront about ones options and explained everything in depth complete with pictures. My post surgical care has also been outstanding. I have a complicated foot problem and I am a nurse practitioner with lots of experience dealing with incompetent and/or arrogant doctors. Dr Burns is not one of them. He is top notch and his wonderful secretary Sue is also the best receptionist I have ever experienced. The office feeling is sort of like an old fashioned doctors office, but with the most excellent care. I would recommend Dr Burns to any of my own patients or family members.

Dr. Burns is top notch. He is the Head of the Surgery Department of the Podiatry school. He has recently won an award for one of the Most Influential Podiatrist in the profession. He is the author of numerous scientific articles and a leader in his field. He is a highly skilled surgeon who specializes in reconstruction of the most complicated foot and ankle deformities. He is highly respected by those in his profession.
If you want a top notch doctor, go to Dr. Burns.
If you want a someone who will smile, talk a bunch of psychobabble over a cup of tea, then go to a pedicurist.

From previous reviews -sound like if you want Dr. with great personality, go elsewhere. If you have a foot problem that you want diagnosed correctly & fixed- use Dr. Burns.
Over 6+ mo. my husband had seen 4+r DPM & Orthopedic surgeons. He had a handicap parking 'cause he was in so much pain walking short distances.
Dr Burns immediately CORRECTLY diagnosed the problem. He did surgery on my husband who years later still is pain-free. Other DPM tried orthotics, ultrasound etc. But... if you don't know what the problem is, you can't fix it. Dr. Burns was (or still may be) head of surgery at the Podiatry School in SF. The Pacifica office is near his home.
I have orthotics from him for YEARS! We've had other pairs from the P.A Clinic etc. that hurt!

I visited Dr Burns recently for an ankle problem. He is a very knowledgable doctor and was able to figure out my problem quickly. He told me what to do and everything worked out fine. I was a little intimindated by him because he was really quiet. He only asked me questions related to my problem, he did not offer any chit chat. That made me feel alittle uncomfortable. But he did understand my injury and helped me to solve it. He could use asmile once in awhile.

I was not too impressed with Dr Burns. He came highly recommend from a family friend but I could not get comfortable with him. He is a dry person and he did not smile at me once. He actually made me feel really uneasy. He seemed to know alot about my problem, but I did not follow up with him because I just could not talk to the man. It was very awkward.

I visited Dr Albert Burns for a minor foot problem. Though he is very knowledgable about hs field, he has teh worst bedside manner of any doctor that I have ever met. He has such a dry personality and was very abrupt about answering my questions. He did not make me feel comfotable at all. Often time you pick a doctor not just for his skills, but also for his personality. Dr. Burns may have the skills, but he definitely does not have the personality.
