Zero Stars actually...

Here's my story with Rancho Del Oro. I had my car parked in my assigned spot at my complex in Escondido and the leasing office mistakenly had this company tow it. Once we ironed it out, my leasing office agreed to pay the fee. I arrived, and seeing as how it is a spare vehicle, I signed for it at no charge, releasing it to myself, and opted to turn around and donate the car back to the Rancho Del Oro.
How do they show their appreciation? After I sign over the pink slip they act like I NEVER donated it (probably ??lost? the pink slip). All the while I??m thinking everything??s ok and my car is donated, they are actually charging me the daily storage fee WITHOUT MY KNOWLEDGE until it??s maxed out. Then they send me to collections without my knowledge for $2100 on a $200 tow that was paid for by my leasing office. Plus they got my car.
I didn??t find out until almost a year later when I tried to open up an account at a credit union. My credit is now ruined and I am in the hole $2100all because I made the mistake of donating my car to them. Aren't there laws against this type of thing?

We have had a problem with unathorized vehicles parking in the fire lanes and within the community. Rancho Del Oro has done a great job of enforcing our policy. Of course, the violators are not very happy, but this company does do things by the letter of the law. Rancho del Oro provides great services. The only con it has is that sometimes it takes them a couple of calls to get a tow truck on the premises... Otherwise, they patrol pretty regularly.

Pros: Very consistent and they insist everything be done legally

Cons: Sometimes it takes a couple of calls to get a recovery vehicle on the premises..

These guys are going around in the middle of the night, towing cars from apartment houses and condos and forcing you to pay $240 or more to get your car back. If this happens to you, be aware that the State of California has strict rules for control this. Check out California Vehicle Code 22658. Chances are pretty good they have not been following the letter of the law. Stay away from Rancho Del Oro towing.

Pros: None

Cons: These guys give tow truck operators a bad name
