I'm here to visit my friend for giving birth of her baby. I was standing outside of the main gate talking with their nurse through the wall speaker, I did not hear her clearly. Then I approached to nurse station to ask about my friend again, they became very impatient and raised their voice, telling me to wait outside until they call me-which never happen. They talked behind my back when I left their station, teasing about "Chinese are so pushing..you know how pushing Chinese can be?....", very insulting and discriminating tone and I felt been treated like an idiot.
I won't recommend this hospital to any new mom if you don't speak Spanish, since it is unlikely to be a pleasure experience for you. The staff I met today are so unprofessional and highly racism, definitely not type of people I want to deal with in a hospital where I expect caring hearts.

Twice we entered the hospital through the emergency room with the other admittance happening directly from the medical group across the street. They send a wheelchair over to bring the patient directly to their ward.

One year it was a few days before Christmas. A group of local volunteers came and sang carols around the pediatric ward and gave out presents, even to visiting siblings.

If you are lucky your child can get a private room with their own bathroom. On one visit we had a shared bathroom that was not pleasant. They have air conditioning and chairs that pull out into beds for parents and sibling to stay.

The kids room is not open consistently, but you can get the videos and tv/vcr to move into the room for convenience. Nurses are helpful and remember patients from previous stays.

Social services visits and will give you a pass for free food at the cafeteria if the need is there. The biggest hassle is leaving and getting care directions, wheelchair ride out. This all is waiting on the pharmacy if you have any meds to get filled before leaving. It can be another hour before you get out the door due to this Rx.

Rooms are small and cramped if there are two kids and one adult. They have volunteers who will sit with your child while you go get a meal. They can be brought up to the room too.

The cafeteria has a microwave you can use for the food items, including popcorn.

They also have on site therapies that both my children have attended over the years - speech and occupational (OT). There is an indoor pool both therapists used with my kids and did cross over therapy so they were there together.

They do come early for blood draws, will accomodate special needs meals with the assistance of Dietitian.

PROS: consistent staff, helpful social services, dietitian
CONS: some long waits in Emergency Room, long lines at food grill
