My daughter was miserable and I didn't trust my gut about this place. I should have pulled her out sooner. She's so much happier now.

My daughter has been in Miss Setsuko's class since she was four (she is 6 now). These kids have been taught "how" to think, not "what" to think so that when they are exposed to new things and concepts they are not fearful but have the tools and confidence to work through things. My child was exposed to the fine arts (they painted still life pictures learning about light and shadows) and complex (well for them) math. This taught my child to learn to express herself better. I have a drawer overflowing with unique projects and work they completed in school. Also, they do most of the "homework" in school and when they did bring home folders they were taught to do it all themselves! The greatest thing is that most of the more difficult concepts are presented in such a way that it is fun and the kids just absorb the concepts through manipulation and repetition. My child (who is graduating from kindergarten this week) has been given a very strong foundation and passion for learning that should carry her through high school. Lastly, the staff is generally very pleasant and works very hard to foster a community spirit. Everyone's experience is different, but I don't mind that the school is older, I would rather have a plain cardboard box with a piece of gold inside than a pretty box with a lump of coal which is what you may sometimes find with another school in general. It would get five stars if it went to 3rd grade!! = )

my son was 2 years old when he started this school. Im also a teacher so when I starting looking for school, I did my home work. I love the staff. When you walk in there is always a smiling face to greet you and your child. My son has grown so much since he has been a part of this school. Im so happy that I chose this school for my child. I would not want him to be in any other place.

Pros: great place to grow

My child was enrolled here for almost a year and he cried every day that I dropped him off which was very unusual for him. The location was rather dingy and dirty and the customer service at the front was run by a rather unpleasant and rude woman. The playground outside was recently updated which was nice but the kids played outside so long they would become bored and cold and want to go inside. The teacher my son had was nice enough but sometimes hard to understand. He never came home with any art projects or tangible evidence that he was learning anything at all. Even now as a 6 year old he says "he hated that place". Do your child a favor and stay away from this school. There is better out there.
