.

My son has been attending Firehouse School part-time (5 day/wk mornings) for a year and started when he was 26 months in their 2 yr old room.

Overall, we have been happy with the curriculum, the social interaction he has with other kids, and the myriad activities they do daily. In addition, the school provides (for an additional fee) hot lunches daily.

There are two teachers in the 2 yr old room and we are satisfied with their abilities, experience, and care of our child.

In order to move to the 3 yr old room, our son needs to be potty trained and since turning 3, one of his teachers has been on us to potty train him, even though my son shows little interest. However, I do think he is ready to move up, so we will work to get him potty trained by the beginning of the school year. If he were home with me full time, I would probably not push the potty training issue and I'm not sure we'll even be successful if we do, but we will make a concerted effort.

There is an active Parent's Club that's comprised of involved parents who not only coordinate fund raisers, but also help coordinate food drives (if a teacher has a personal/family emergency), teacher appreciation week activities, etc. It allows parents who are interested in becoming more involved to directly support the efforts of the school.
