This restaurant offers a fine variety of Persian cuisine in an elegant atmosphere. It's perfect for a family dinner or entertaining a group. They also have wonderful banquet rooms if you're planning to throw a party. Enjoy!

They almost always have great food and good service. It is a good place to ease newcomers into trying Persian food. The food is simple but fresh and the quality and flavor of the item shines through.

I get so frustrated with places that spend money on the interior, in an effort to appeal to the upper class, but then eveything else is neglected. The staff is extremely RUDE and if they make a mistake they blame it on you - yes, they have the audacity to fight with you and tell you to your face that YOU, the customer, are wrong.
I've been to many Persian restaurants and other establishments, so the rudeness might be cultural - Persian people are very direct, abrupt, confrontational, and... not used to putting on a friendly smile when greeting you for the first time (I can say this because my father is Persian). These are not good attributes to have when you are running a business. Why subject yoursef to such awful treatment?
The food is OK, but can't justify their high prices. Spend your money some place else and stay away from this overrated Persian restaurant.

There are many fabulous Persian and Middle Eastern restaurants in the area. Darya is not one of them. The service is terrible, and I wouldn't serve the food to my pets.

I think most of the diners go here to drink and watch the belly dancers and have never had Persian food before.

One time I ordered the beef kebob and got a skewer of burnt beef with a wilted, exploded tomato and dried out styrofoam rice. The waiter was totally put out when I sent it back, as if he had done me a favor by serving it.

I had the misfortune of going back there for a company dinner. The stew I ordered had something unidentifiable in it, like an old shoe. It was disgusting. Again, I sent mine back (as did a few other people in my party) and again, no apology, just a scowl.

Don't waste your money here. Go to the Caspian, Hatam's, the Saffron, anyplace but Darya.

In the recent years, Darya has not only managed to raise their prices by a good 80%, but managed to lower their standards in terms of quality of food, and service. I have been a patron for 10 years, but my last few visits really left a bad taste in my mouth. The ambiance and price are that of a high class restaurant, but the food and service do not match up to expectations.

Pros: Atmosphere, No Waiting

Cons: Quality of Food, Prices, Service

My last visit, I paid $24 a plate for the Kabob Barg ("filet" meat) which was chewy and full of fat, and the waiter had a big attitude problem. He asked, "how would you like your steaks done" referring to the Barg, and when we said "medium well", he brought back two Chicken Kabobs. We told him that we specifically asked for Beef Barg, and he said that we were mistaken! After pointing out to his earlier question regarding "how would you like your steak done?" he said, "well, maybe it was my fault, but never the less, you ordered Chicken... if you want me to go change it, it will be another 15 minutes." It isn't just this time that we have had problems with the service or quality of food.

Enjoyed the food, ambiance and service. However the price was a bit high. My friend makes the same dishes and was appalled at the price.

We were also charged for drinks we never ordered. However they were removed from our tab. The excuse was the software was bad. Check your tickets! ;-)

The music was fantastic and although I liked the food, my friend of course swore his cooking was better. I told him I'd have to sample some more of his to be sure. :-)

Great place to go, but expect to put a hole in your wallet.

PROS: Excellent food, ambiance and service
CONS: Price too high & software flaw - make sure your ticket is correct!

I recently had lunch at Darya's and was pleasantly surprised. A friend from work recommended it and all four of us enjoyed our food. Of the four of us, one is Persian, two have had Persian food several times before and one had never tried it. We all tried different dishes and tasted each other's food. Our service was prompt, efficient, but not overly friendly. While the prices are higher than for many other restaurants, they are similar to other high-end restaurants.

Ive only gone once and I havent had been to enough Persian restaurants to call myself an expert but I was very fulfilled with my meal. My work went for our company Christmas lunch and we ordered an appetizer made of eggplant and roasted onions and I couldnt stop eating that.

As a regular to Darya, I've noticed its systematic deterioration. The food is good, the place is good but it needs to be to make up for the the attitude of the waiters (time and again). Even as a regular, expect the table next to you to get your food faster, to be tended to and for you to be ignored like a second class citizen. And this is from someone who tips 20% at least. Don't waste your time; find another place, find another type of cuisine.
