The coffee in here is not that bad but what I love about this place is that they have a great assortment of pastries, they should invest more on that.

Are you people that are giving bad reports, crazy? This place is great! I've been coming here since their first location, day one. The bread and the veggie cobb sandwich are delicioso. The staff is always friendly.
And now the parking

Went there at noon today and all the entrances were barricaded though there were workers inside. There were no "CLOSED" signs, so I guess that you're supposed to take the hint. There were signs that they are closing the neighborhood location at "end of May" and relocating to NTC, where there are some real parking issues.

This is my favorite place for sandwiches and fantastic bread. I love their Turkey Cobb, Salami and Almost Grilled Cheese sandwiches. Their breads are delicious. I finally tried their Chocolate bread which I believe they only make on the weekend - delicious! The down side is they only take cash or local checks. However, they are moving locations to Liberty Station soon so maybe that will change.

I went to Con Pane off of a friend's recommendation. The cafe was easy to find but parking in the area wasn't. I drove around the block but found parking in the back in a "no bakery parking" space. I went there to get soup but found out they don't have any, but orders a half sandwich on their homemade bread. IT as pretty good but expensive. The prices are a little high but it's a non-chain bakery and you can watch the bread being made right before you. Don't forget to bring your cash-they don't accept credit cards.

This is a good one! It is sort of an upscale sandwich place, they even have a glamorous PB & J. Sort of crowded at lunch, but you can order and go. Seems a little pricey for a sandwich, but it is good.

I've been a regular for years and it never ceases to amaze me how this small bakery at the end of Point Loma continues to put out the best bread, cinnamon rolls, cookies and sandwiches!! In all my travels, I've never had a better sandwich

Pros: Great food, reasonable prices, interesting food

Cons: Does not accept credit cards

.

A consultant showed up at my office with a large box of some of the best cookies I've ever had (Butter Toffee Peanut Butter) , so I had to check out the bakery over the weekend. Our order was taken before they told us they didn't accept

Pros: Great cookies, great roast beef sandwich. Better than average bread.

Cons: Less than desirable service, un-inspired street corner patio seating/overall ambience.

The above description highlights the experience. They are an oligopoly since there are not many choices in Point Loma. As the competitive market ( Panera Bread scheduled for liberty station) widens they will not make it in business.

Con Pane makes a wide variety of breads, and also features a few special breads each day. Our favorits are the gryure and chive, and the awesome red onion and gargonzola foccacias. Staff is generally friendly, and parking is easy.

This is one of my favorite places to get a sandwich. They have other lunch items such as salads and soups, but their specialty, as the name implies, is bread. They have fresh baked bread throughout the day, which makes their sandwiches taste so much better. It's a small cafe, so the prices are somewhat elevated. And there's not a whole lot of parking around. But the food is good, and it is served up in a timely manner. I would recommend this place to anyone who can appreciate a quality sandwich and who doesn't mind paying a little extra for it. They also sell their bread in loafs if you desire fresh bread as opposed to a sandwich.
