I have purchased my last 4 vehicles through this dealership and can't say enough about the level of service and professionalism. From the first greeting, to the negotiations, to the finances and finally, all way through the salesperson

Brought my vehicle in here recently for service and was ripped off. Fifty dollars and a two hour wait to install a battery! Yeah, I know, I should have shopped around and installed it myself.

The service advisor, a female, was indifferent to my needs and seemed only interested in inflating the bill. The cashier gave me no greeting when I went to pay and didn't even look at me. Members of my family and I have come here for years to both buy vehicles and get them serviced, but no more. The quality of people they have working here has dropped off considerably. In all fairness, I will say that some of the people here are of good quality and are customer service oriented. In the future I will take my business elsewhere and I recommend all others do the same.

I took my 2002 tacoma in because it was missfiring, went on a test run with a tech and he confirmed it was a missfire. two hrs later i get a call from service dept saying i had a cracked head. stoppd after work and spoke to the tech. he said i had a crack in cylinder 3. he claimed he checked plugs and coils and they were fine. I asked why i wasnt losing coolant and if there was coolant in oil and he sad there was no coolant in oil and had no answer as to why i wasnt losing coolant and why my truck wasnt overheating or letting out white smoke, clear signs of a cracked head. they wanted to charge me 2800.00 just to remove head and check and another 500.00 to 1000.00 if it was cracked. i said no thanks and drove away in my truck. next day went to 9th avenue auto, told him my situation. he checked compression on all 6 cylinders, all good. no signs of coolant residue in cylinder 3, no coolant in oil. he switched coils from cylinder 3 to 1 and missfire moved to no 1. in the end my truck only needed a new coil. I will never return to the toyota of escondido STEALERSHIP.

Their new car sales is up to the worst reputation of car salesmen. They'll seek to take advantage of you at every step. We came prepared with the quotes from different dealerships, and negotiated a fair price, but they 'made us' on the custom options that we did not know the true cost. Avoid it by all means.

I purchased a used 2007 Certified Tundra. Within a few days I discovered the Blue Tooth and DVD system did not work. They actually told me that because I purchased the truck at "below low Blue Book" that here was nothing they could do for me. This statement came from Mark Sweeny the Sales Manager only three days after I drove the call off the lot!!

Sorry I did not read these reviews before I actually purchased here. This story is not over by any means. Stay tuned.

Unpleasant experience in parts. Will never take my car to be serviced there again, or recommend dealer to anyone else.

Pros: none

Cons: Molly is not at all a good manager for the position.

Never buy a vehicle from this dealer. They are completely dishonest and all they want is your money. If you are thinking about it, walk away. Again... NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THIS DEALER!!!

Purchased a 2008 Tundra 10 months ago. I currently have 13K on it. At 10K I performed oil change and rotated tires. While I was under the truck, I noticed rust forming on the frame, sway bar, skid plate and other components. I also noticed a terrible wear pattern on my front tires. I completed maintenance and because of work, scheduled my appointment for service weeks later. They were more than happy to do warranty work, because Toyota corporate pays them. They replaced the battery (which was leaking and causing the corrosion) and all the other affected parts. I was called by the service guy and told my truck was ready. I drove from Carlsbad to Escondido only to crawl under the truck and see it was not done 100%. I informed the service guy and I had to get the rental car again. He called me later that day and I picked it up. While this was going on, I had him look at my tires. He immediately put the blame on me and said they're non-warranty items. He agreed to do an alignment free of charge only to find that it was out of alignment. I took my truck to 6 tire shops and all of them agreed the tire wear is indicative of bad alignment. The 7th shop I visited was a dedicated alignment shop where they determined my truck was still out of alignment! I presented this to the Regional Service Manager and he agreed to 35%, only to find out the next day he only agreed to 35% of the tire and I would have to pay full cost for labor. So basically Toyota's response for delivering a truck with a bad alignment is for the customer to pay cost for the tire and still pay a mark up on labor. I called the dealership and the Service Manager was a real a-hole. So basically I paid a lot of money to Toyota of Escondido, I still have a bad alignment, I need two new tires, and I have rust stains on my driveway.

We tried to buy a new car from Toyota of Escondido 2 times, both times we walked out due to their ego and arrogant. The first car salesman was fine he shows us around introduce the car and explain all features of the car, then the second one was rude and non negotiable, first of all they still using old method which were used 20 years ago, writing on a piece of paper, pricing, down payment, MSRP.. E.C.T when we offer them how much we willing to pay which is standard 5-10 % off the MSRP and down payment he went back and fort and end up we walked away . They should go back and learn it from any Honda dealers how to sale car and reduce time walking back and fort. They may sale more cars especially this kind of economy.

Took my car in to Toyota of Escondido because my engine was overheating. Checking things out, we felt it was just the thermostat. They called an hour later and said, "We found the leak. That's why you've been losing fluid. It'll be an extra $500." Huh?? There was no leak, we weren't losing fluid. Told them to just replace the thermostat. Been fine since, no leak, fluid level's fine.

HOWEVER, when we got the car back, the check engine light was on, the VSC lights were on, weren't on before, haven't gone off since. Plus they must have torn one of the black duct things, as now it's all wrapped in black tape.
Take your car ANYWHERE but here!

They have some of the nicest people working here. I had some problems with the Toyota dealership of Carlsbad and decided to come here to Escondido. They are very friendly, helpful and honest. They have a shuttle if your car is needing to be worked on for a while but they also have a nice waiting area with kids room, nail salon, and TV's. First class service!
