For the decade that I have been bringing watches to John for repair, he has consistently provided excellent expertise and polite service. I recommend him to everyone who needs a good person to service their time pieces.

I've taken three watches to John and had to return two within a couple of days because they kept such horrible time. John's friendly, and even knowledgeable, but the amount of time (over four months for parts and/or cleaning) it takes for him to "make it right" seems a little beyond compare.

When he says "I'm just waiting on a part from Downtown," figure that to mean another six weeks before the watch is back in your possession.

I highly recommend this shop! I'm a bit of a watch and clock collector and so far he??s worked on three old clocks from 1860s, 1885 and 1914; there pocket watches from 1898, 1920s, 1930s; four wristwatches from the 1930s, 40s and 70s; and a timepiece from the cockpit of a WW2 military aircraft. I'm thoroughly impressed by his skill and knowledge about time pieces. His prices are more than fair. He has a reputation with the jewelers in the area as the best guy for miles. A couple of the clocks I had to bring back a few times before there were right, but given that he??s repairing a 140 year old mechanical device that hasn't run for decades from a company that is long since extinct, it can take time for all the issues to surface. Keep your expectations realistic. Because he??s around I??m willing to pursue my hobby of vintage watch collecting. I don??t know what I will do when he retires.

Brought my pocket watch in because it was losing a minute a day. Four months and eight visits later, they fixed it. For the first 10 weeks, they said they couldn't find the part they needed. When I told them I would pick it up that week to take elsewhere, they miraculously found the part the next day nearby. In the meantime, they lost it, they had gotten it to lose 4 minutes every half hour, and they had even gotten the hands to bend when they were advanced because they were misaligned. Each time I picked it up, they assured me they had tested it and it was perfect. Once I picked it up and the hands were misaligned: at one o'clock, the big hand was on the twelve and the little hand midway between one and two. I could see this immediately, so I assume a clock/watch repairman who had "checked it out and it is running perfectly" could do so too. Finally got it fixed when I told them I would demand my money back the next time I had to bring my watch back. Be forewarned

Fast and friendly service, especially great for watch repair. They'll make house calls for large grandfather clocks or finnicky cuckoo clocks.
