Metropolis Comics

Metropolis is a long, narrow shop, laid out in logical fashion. the New Comics Wall is particularly well thought-out - it's set up in 4 sections, starting with this week's at left, and then going to last weeks, 2 wks ago, 3 wks ago - it's great because you can tell almost at a glance when a monthly comic is due out next.

They've recently painted a big blue field above their cash register and put up a big Superman emblem, it looks cool, and also they've added a Batman neon to the rear of the store, giving the browser some more cool stuff to look at.

The best thing about Metropolis, though, is the staff - very friendly without being overly pushy, attentive and well-read, they were able to help me catch up with the current DC and Marvel Universe story lines very quickly, directing me to key issues and cluing me in to key developments if I express doubt about purchasing so much - in other words, they had read the material and knew how to summarize for me. they have a very good pull and hold program, and overall, I think the very best back issue section I have seen in a long time.

Great! Give me a shop that cares over a huge, faceless shop any day.

I went here to look for a gift for my friend who was really into comics. The shop itself was not that bad. I wish it could have had more walking space, but I should not be complaining. They hold many kinds of comics, especially the popular ones like batman and superman. They also sell other products like posters. I think this store is really more into superman though. The pricing is okay, I think, I'm not a real comic fan, so I would not know how to compare the prices. The employees were nice, and gave me advise on what I should get my friend.
