WORST service EVER!!!! I have eaten there a couple of times and its been okay but I went there on a Sunday and it was ATROCIOUS!!! Granted, the place was packed, of course, isn't every small town cafe on a Sunday? That was no excuse, however. I waitressed at very busy restaurants for 5 years throughout high school and college and I would have been fired on the spot if my service had been as terrible as my server's. It took her no less than 15 minutes to take our order, was extremely rude in the process and then we did not see her again for 45 minutes!!! I am willing to let the wait slide on such a busy day BUT when the food got there ALL of it was cold and she forgot all of the extras we had asked for. She drops the food on our table and walks away not to be seen again. When your food is marginal at best to begin with letting it sit in the order window forever is not going to help matters! I was finally able to flag down another server and get a manager...who was equally as rude as the server. Acted severely inconvenienced by our complaints before agreeing in an irritated tone that it was all free...thanks for the free meal that was unpalatable!! So we left the restaurant over an hour later, still starving, with a vow to never return to that slophouse!!!

I've been to this restaurant many times. You almost always get great service and the food is pretty decent, nothing fancy. Normally I'd give it a 7 out of 10. My son and I went there a couple of days ago. I got the chicken fried steak early dinner special and my son get the new york steak dinner. My chicken fried steak had very little steak in it... it was all breading. I looked and looked at it, had my son look and look and I could not see a bit of meat in there. It was lots of breading, slopped in a gritty, flour-tasting gravy. I didn't eat most of it. My son's New York steak was cooked as he'd requested (medium well) and was very tender, but there sure wasn't much of it. Maybe 5 ounces? On the bright side, their side dishes were much better, gone is that mixed vegetable side dish that they usually serve that looks like they threw in stuff for a week that was scraped from plates. They served corn on the cob and a mashed for me and baked with the corn for my son. The salad was good and the soup choices were nice; creamy cheese broccoli/cauliflower and a sausage minestrone.Side dishes/salad/soup get a 9 out of 10. Meat course was a 1 out of 10 for me and a 4 of 10 for my son. Service was great, a 9 of 10, we had a waitress who was maybe 20-22 yrs old... she was awesome. Overall I will be generous and say 5 out of 10.Btw, some other patrons were in there that day, telling the owner/manager how great their food was.... I guess they got something different, they were incredibly hungry or they're used to not so good food.

I find that when I eat at Village grille the food is always greasy. Although the food is ok. The service is pretty good, but could be better. The prices are reasonable and affordable.

Last time my family and I went here the waitress was obviously sick and had a disgusting sounding cough. Not a pleasant thing to see or hear as you are being handed your food. Our breakfast was fine but our waitress was lacking a personality and smile.

This is your average dinner. When you have a large group with differing tastes you can't go wrong here. They have a typical menu and the service is good.
