Don't go there!

by Diana and Trish G.

Scared to death to bring my Yorkie there now. I went to pick up medication and the directions were wrong! It stated 1 tab twice a day and the right directions were 1/2. She is only 5 pounds and this could have been dreadful.

I wrote a check for $45 for the medication. They ran it through their check reader and the girl told me, "Your check is no good."
I have thousands available with overdraft. They called the company and had me speak with them. I gave all the info they wanted and was told all was OK. AGAIN....I was told I was writing a bad check and must use a credit card or NO medication! They were other ppl there and this was really embarrassing! We have spent thousands of $ over time with them. I asked to speak to the doctor who said he stands behind his reader. Folks we are talking about $45 and I am local......not $450. i even asked to take my credit card info........if my check was no good, they could charge it at that time. We are trying to pay off the card and stop using them.

We are taking our dog to a new Vet, mainly because of the WRONG directions on medication. I do feel they overcharge ppl anyway and are more concerned about money then the animals!

BEWARE!!

Magnolia Animal Hospital of Westminster

by Anita C.

I have been taking my animals to Dr. Aziz for over 18 years now. He has always provided the best service and care to my animals. He is very personable and cares about not only his patients but also the families of the patients. His staff has also been very kind to us all of these years.

Tulla (My 4 lb. Chihuahua)

by Lisa T.

Thank you Magnolia Animal Hospital Staff, for you kindness and compassion towards Tulla..

Story...
Tulla is a teacup chihuahua rescue from the Orange County Animal Shelter. I adopted her on the last day before she was sentenced to be euthanized. Nobody wanted to adopt her because of her age, and her nails were so overgrown they were curled so it made her walk like she had neurological issues, her whole coat / ears were thick solid black due to fly feces.

Tulla is now 8 yrs old, i have had her for 2 years with no health issues until recently. When Tulla became lethargic and not wanting to eat or drink and vomiting, I started freaking out.. I took Tulla to Magnolia Animal Hospital and the staff did more then enough to take care of my little mamma's.. to where she is eating, drinking and barking =) again

Thank you, much love
Lisa

Very compassionate

by Kelly G.

I had a cat and from the time she was a kitten and when we had to put her to sleep at 13 she went no where but Magnolia Animal Hospital. She received the best care and was treated as if she was their own pet. She had cancer in the middle of her lower jaw and it was growing. She was hospitalized so they could run tests and everything. The next morning the Vet, called me to tell me my options which were chemo or put her to sleep because he couldn't guarantee chemo would work, if not it would grow and break her jaw and would starve to death cause she wouldn't be able to eat. He said to call him back in a few hours after thinking it over. After 2 hours of crying I realized I had to do what was best for my cat and have her put to sleep. A member of his staff promised to hold her till she passed cause I couldn't be there. Then they took care of all the arrangements to have her cremated.

Great Care and Patience for Patients

by Sam's M.

Magnolia has treated my Golden for 12 of his 14 years. They discovered a way to end his horrible skin problem after many years of sores, etc.

He is a (relatively) healthy and happy pet due to the loving treatment and care from Magnolia Hospital. Animals are touchy living creatures and one cannot predict what their illnesses will entail all of the time. (Some from the puppy mills I suspect.)

The deal is that medicine is very expensive and I have been fairly charged. Pet Insurance is available and is reasonable.

Love my VET

Unnecessary Charges

by Daisy P.

I can't say that the doctor is bad but the charges/estimates are ridiculous. My dog was vomitting and hasn't been eating or drinking anything and the doctor wanted to hospitalized him, X-ray his abdominen, do blood work, urine analysis, etc. and includes the charge for the medicines. I understand you have to pay for the meds but what's weird is, how do you know which meds to give to the dog if you don't know what's wrong with it in the first place? Anyways, I'm just saying the charges were ridiculous and I wouldn't come back here.
I went to another vet and the doc told me by hearing all the symptoms and examining him he narrowed it down to 2 things. The doc said X-Ray needs to be done in case, there are any foreign object(s) in his stomach and 2nd is blood work but it's up to me whether I wanted to get that blood work done. X-Ray was necessary which was fine with me, that would have been my #1 choice for them to do. Hospitalization wasn't needed. He said if the dog doesn't get better then call me, we'll proceed to the next step.

I just like it when they give me options and doing tests one by one instead of putting it all up front and charge me $700 with unnecessary charges.
I prefer to treat my own pet at home for minor illnesses instead of hospitalizing them. I think they're more comfortable when they are at home in a familiar environment than having strangers treating them. But it's just my preference.

Oh, I went to AAA Animal Hospital in Huntington Beach.

This "Hospital/Boarding Facility" is Terrible!

by Klara G.

There is nothing good to report about this facility. They rate an unsatisfactory mark from the staff to the services provided.

I have a thirteen year old Lab. I boarded him for three days. I was told by the staff they walk large breed dogs three times a day for 20 minutes, this is a lie. They walk them once a day for 3 minutes. They expect animals to go to the bathroom in 3 minutes!? When I picked my dog up, he was disoriented, dehydrated and had dried feces stuck to his hind quarters. The staff was very unapologetic. They told me he did not like it in the kennel and he was not drinking water. When I asked why I was not called or why my emergency contact was not informed, they had no answer. I called the day I brought him home and spoke with an emergency room vet to describe the behavior of my pet. He drank over a gallon of water when I brought him home and was now vomiting up the water. I was told to limit his water intake and if he does not get better, bring him in. I called the following Tuesday to speak with the boarding manager. She assured me she would look into the problems and call me back. I have never heard back. It took my pet over a week to return to his old self. I took him to the vet the day after I returned to discover he also had a bladder infection. They concluded he was not drinking because he did not want to go to the bathroom in his kennel. I never expected the boarding facility to treat him like I treat him, but common care and attendance is what I paid for. I implore you to take your pet to another facility.

Open late at night - well run - excellent care

by Robert S.

In the fall of 1986, at 8pm, our kitten couldn't get up - frantically, we searched the yellow pages for a vet - we just moved here months earlier - & found the add for Magnolia Animal Hospital - open till 10 pm most nights! We brought Double O in, and after an exam & xrays, they determined he swallowed a rubber toy lizard - & there was no way the toy's head was going out the other end of the kitten. Surgery was not advisable - it would probably kill him. The treatment plan was to give him something to allow the small pieces to pass through & give him small doses of medicine that would help him yark (bark, heave, etc) the larger pieces. The doctor's were great - we'd come in to visit & find Double O perched upon a vet's shoulders as he made the rounds. Upon his release, after two days, only the head was still in him. A day later, he yarked that up as well. Joy in Hooterville!

When our German Shepherd had cancer, they performed exploratory surgery to see if it was operable, & it was not. Losing a pet is surprisingly tough, & they showed great care.

They have been our vet for 19 years, for two dogs & two cats, and we highly recommend them.

PROS: long hours, well staffed, excellent value

Great Dog Care

by Dan V. | insider_guru Insider Guru | Rank: 1,344

Magnolia Animal Hospital probably got the best Veterinarians around. I took my dog here for a shot, the last time I took her for a shot at another place; she makes a big fuss about it. But here, she didn't even move during the process. My dog is very healthy and happy all because of Magnolia Animal Hospital.
